you cut the top of the plant, just make sure to leave 5 internodes(where branches start)

LST, low stress training, or SCROG, screen of green. Go to overgrow.com and click on the growing FAQs and look up LST and SCROG, topping will not make a small plant, just two tops.

how tall did they get ?

ive topped my plants a few times to keep them small and bushy ,(recommend no more than twice)out in the hills its hard to hide it and you dont want a 9ft plant standing there with budds leaning it over some, god forbid them 14ft agfan monsters thats sprung up years ago.
them 3 foot plants smoked just a well to me,as the tall ones with one main stem the ones that forked and forked agian was about 4 ft tall at best but had limbs sticking everwhere

i wished i had bud from that year now.
peace

if you can, don't top...BEND... tie the top of the plant dowm.. bend it over so it is not pointing to the sky but rather pointing to the ground... if you have many many plants then you are probably better off topping.. but if you only have a few plants you should train them to stay low rather than top...

good luck
