My bed. My living room chair with my pets. And my kitchen.
Unless we're talking about safety from tornadoes (I live in Texas.) In that case, my real safe spot is a special reinforced interior hall closet/storeroom in a downstairs hallway.

behind the wheel of my truck. no one can find me if i don't want to be found and it's one of the few places that i'm in complete control (not necessarily a good thing, but....).

I feel safest when I am behind my 12 bore double barrel O/U shotgun.
That and when I am wrapped in my comfort blanket sucking my thumb,:)

Laying on top of the roof of a boat on the norfolk broads in the evening with a can of stella and a big joint. Sometimes i can see the hot air baloons, you can see and hear them when they turn the flames up. Used to see the RAF Jag's shooting about in the sky during the day too, low, and fucking loud too. Dont get that so much anymore. That's where im happiest, and most comfortable. That and my house.

There's an island on the local river where you can find me on sunny hot afternoons, smoking a bowl, fishing, with my feet in the sand and a beer in my hand, just enjoying the sound of the rapids nearby. I feel much safer there than anywhere else, including my house. I REALLY need to ditch my tenants...

There is no place I feel safer and more content than in my husbands arms. :s2:No matter where we are if his arms are around me I feel content and safe. I know thats mushy, but its true!

The shower. Sometimes I'm in there enjoying the hot water, thinking "damn, i wish I could just live here forever". That and my bed, no responsibilities or anything to deal with, just me and the bed.

Hey, TX Girl. Yeah, it's nice. No, we didn't put the room in. We bought this house about a year and a half after another couple built it. They had to move for his job, and so we got a good deal on a next-to-new house. They built it with that reinforced room. I think they must have been safety freaks or something. She was from Wichita Falls originally and had lived through that terrible tornado in 1979. They used steel for the framing and also put in a sprinkler system, not just in the yard but inside the house, too, in case of fire. I think think that may be part of the building code here for houses of this size anyway. Then they put that concrete-reinforced room in the middle. With the steel frame and the way the place is designed, it'd practically take a direct hit from an F-5 tornado to blow the place away. The "tornado room" is sorta tucked under one of the staircases and is a place I'd have loved to go hide out in as a kid. We use it for storage and keep flashlights in there and a weather radio. Only have used it once, so far, when there was a tornado warning that a storm was tracking right for this area, but fortunately it skipped back up and went north of here. I had all the kitties and doggies in their crates and had moved them in there. Turned out it was only a little twister that blew some shingles off people's roofs and took some fences down. Isn't Texas great?
