I smoked last night and my heart didn't speed up much the whole time.

Right after i smoked 2 bowls i smoked a cigarette which felt pretty good. Usually i sketch out but this time i was just listening to Marley & Peter Tosh and was smiling the whole time. I think the key is to stay calm and not panic or get paranoid. Not sure if taking your time will make no difference, i didnt take my time and my heart beat didnt go up. I think the key to keeping your heart rate down is to think happy thoughts, surround yourself with satisfying music / friends, and to stay away from situations that will make u paranoid or worried about being caught.

Look in the medical forum, there are several thread on this. I'm not sure if it has been asked exactly like this but I feel (and several of my friends feel) that if you are one of those whose heart races that going slow can help prevent this or keep it limited. You know that your heart may race and before you smoke you may work yourself into anxiety about this compounding the problem so by going slow you reduce the anxiety and this may help prevent or limit this.

Yes, the rate at which you administer cannabis into your system does matter. The faster you smoke it, the faster you'll get high. Thus, if you smoke it fast, your heart rate will speed up to accommodate for your bodily needs. Also, I noticed that if you smoke it fast, you obviously peak faster, and the peak is more intense, but the overall length of the high seems to be shortened a bit. Try taking a big hit every couple mins. It'll lengthen your high, and keep you peaked for longer ;). Make up for the long wait by packing a big bowl. You can stretch your peak out for a long time by doing this... it works for me, and I hope it works for you too ;). Also, the more tolerance you have to cannabis, and the more experience, you won't have problems with your heart rate. It's mostly in your head anyway. Learn to ignore it, and it'll go away (the real heart rate is hardly sped up at all, just a bit).

I have this problem too. And your heart rate dosnt actually speed up as much as it feels like it does.

i used to have terrible, TERRIBLE, heartbeat problems when i was high, i quit smokin for weeks because every time i sparked one i would have a pounding chest which would send me into a mild panic attack. I found the best thing you can do is just seperate yourself from the situation for a moment take a few deep breathes and realize that you are in no true danger.
