(CBS) The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government in Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday on Face The Nation.
"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. "And to me, that would include a strike into... over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers."
The Indepedent former Democrat from Connecticut said that he was not calling for an invasion of Iran, but he did say the U.S. should target specific training camps.
"I think you could probably do a lot of it from the air, but they can't believe that they have immunity for training and equipping people to come in and kill Americans," Lieberman said.

"Pretty good" evidence.. ROFL! Show the American public 100% without a doubt evidence and not some 50/50 bullcrap! Someone uses radio shack parts in in IED doesn't exactly make radio shack guilty..

I remember that article a while back. Then the white house stopped talking about it one day like it never happened. I don't doubt Iran is guilty of something, its just after all the lies about Iraq how can anyone even believe these guys. I want to see EVIDENCE and not just be told "it is so"... That would sound like a truther preaching Alex Jones ontop a mountain.
Cameron reported Bush claim that Iran sent IEDs to Iraq, omitted that Gen. Pace said U.S. has no proof (http://mediamatters.org/items/200603210013)
Summary: Fox News chief White House correspondent Carl Cameron repeated President Bush's claim that Iran has helped Iraqi insurgents build deadlier improvised explosive devices (IEDs), but omitted the fact that Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that there's no proof to back up such a claim.

All I can say is that they'd better figure it out fast on where these are coming from and nip it in the bud! Half of our people injured/dead is because of these IEDs.......I don't think that there is a factory in Iraq putting out this type of highly technical device that is being used today against our people.

Man you are sure programed. The first thing I'd question is the validity of that turncoat Joe Lieberman, Democrat my ass. That guy is more repube than Judiani. Reports of Iranian hands on IEDs, questionable at best. And so what. If the Russians invaded Canada, don't you think we'd help out the Canadians, try to kill as many Russians as we could without actually using our troops. You must remember, we have not had diplomatic relations with Iran since Regan. If we did, Maybe we could just contact them and tell them to stop. Here's the real deal. The shiites in Iraq are well connected to Iran. Sadam kept the lid on all those crazy mullahs. We removed Sadam and opened Pandoras Box. Diplomacy is the only answer. An escalation of violence will only create more division and chaos. Grow up. This isn't schoolyard justice, my dick is bigger than your dick doesn't work in the international arena, especially when the opponent is ready and willing to die. If you want to see the "RE-VAL", you better hope for a diplomatic solution, Bombing Iran will surely sink the deal!

06-11-2007, 07:02 PM
We gotta keep in mind that Iranain markings on munitions isn't proof of Iranian government involvement. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we justify violent bullshit by generalizing millions under a common label, in this case "Iranian". The government may be involved, but thus far we have no proof; it could just as easily be some decenting officers, or munitions warehouses, or independant militias secretly supplying the Iraqi insurgency. But as usual, people see the markings of "Iran" and think no further than "Iran".
Isn't it great putting one face on a complex situation? Makes it so much easier to figure shit out.

Yippy skippy? Not exactly that black and white. Whether it be Iranians or Americans that commited the above mentioned act, you do need to check who was involved and if it was government sanctioned. If the American government said "no, we didnt' do that, somebody hijacked our munitions", you call for an investigation! Otherwise any terrorist or militia based asshole could send 2 nations to war without their governments even initiating the conflict! Could you imagine?

Howdy fishman,
Sounds like yer solution is to surrender, and if ya go ahead and convert to Islam now,yer life may be spared and ya won't have to pay the jizra tax for dhimmini's such as yer self.
In order to cut-off our supply lines,Iran would have to establish air superiority first, which they will never be able to do..and if they attack our fleet, that would be an act of war and we'd open a big fat can of whup-ass on em.
Have a good one ...
andruejaysin

The supply line they would cut would be out of the gulf, not in. You don't need air superiority to hit a tanker with a misssile. And perhaps you should edit you're signature to include "unless you're pakistan".

God damnit Torog, must you take everything to extremes? "He doesn't want to attack Iran? That means he wants to surrender!" Not everybody lives in the black and white world you apparently seem to.
Ever heard of the strawman argument?

That's why it sucks that your country went into Iraq. There's now a real need for what you guys did, but its being wasted on Iraq.

Welcome to the forums Freshnugz! I agree 110% with your stance on Iran but fact is that if we didn't go into Iraq....we'd be in the same situation in Iran.
Economically Iran is on the verge of collapse and with the trade embargos it's only a matter of time before something breaks loose. They've neglected their oil/natural gas infrastructure since "79" and their exports are dropping by at least 6% on a yearly basis.
People complain about the strength of the U.S. dollar.....lol, the Iranian Rial trades at about 9,400 to 1 U.S.D.. For being one of the top 5 oil exporters in the world that's rediculous.

Israel might just take out the nuke sites by themselves anyway, so no worries. I'm with the guy that says Iranians would rather live under sharia law than have our bombs raing down on them. I'm pretty sure given a choice, the Iraqis would rather have put up with Sadam then what we've done to them and their country. I have no idea why so many people like this guy, he just comes across as a nice guy I think, I'm not fooled by it though. He gave single mothers and pensioners loads of money apparently, so that's also probably why he is popular. I'm not complaining about that, but just before that he hit me really hard with his new IR35 tax clause which took away all the tax breaks enjoyed by people who work as contractors, the year I started my first contract. These tax breaks were supposed to compensate contractors for the fact they could get paid off at any time, and 1 year later that's exactly what happened.

The US really can't afford another front on the "war on terror" without some kind of draft or effective recruiting method.
If there was an attack on Iran, they probably could only do an air strike. No ground troops would be used. But the troops in Iraq will more than likely be slaughtered by Iran's army, hence it will lead to a larger conflict.
It won't be a pretty day.
