The original Scarface, from 1932 with Paul Muni, is a great film.

I'm not a huge fan of the Pacino version of Scarface. The original definitely had its fair share of moments though. To be honest I think that Scarface has just fallen into this college/frat boy category. Everybody always lists it as the greatest film of all time. Not bad but not much to it

Why should everyone watch it? There are much better De Palma films out there and certainly better Pacino ones. For a GOOD gangster movie, try Internal Affairs or Eastern Promises.

so scarface is not good? lol well its a matter of opinion I guess but most of the people in the world rate scarface as #1 gangster film.

I'd like to see a number to support that! LMAO Better then a Coppola, Cronenburg, Scorcese or Leone gangster film?!? LMAO. Sorry, we film students enjoy a good larf from time to time.

Dont get me wrong Scorcese is a hell of a directors and makes the best films, casino/goodfellas are classics!

True. But, you gotta look beyond those two tv staples, check out Mean Streets and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.

Scarface is the greatest movie in the fucking world. Blood and coke aside its a testimony to the American dream that is portrayed in all parts of the world. It not only shows us the lengths at which people attain the "American Dream" but the only option most uneducated adult immigrant.Granted he could of buckled down and gotten a GED or whatever but in the world of glitz and glamor who has time for that? If we look at all of the sub context we can truly give it the merit it so greatly deserves. I will on the other had say that the original was better but seeing how the movies scarface is based on a book by Armitage Trail we can't really bring it up.

You aren't alone, I don't think it's all that either.
As for Napoleon Dynamite it has got to be easily in the top 3 worst movies ever made, it's about as funny as a whack in the bollocks with a baseball bat and it's just as painful to watch.

I had to say Im with CC its one of the best gangster movies ever. I like the chainsaw scean, that was taken from actual events. I like the original scarface too, but the 80's version was way better its was a completely different movie. The shoot out scean in the begaining was a actual shoot out that happenng in Miami. They just threw it in their cause at the time some one blastin some one eles in the face while they were down, on the streets of society was unherd of. It was an act of military war but Tony Montana did it for free he did it for funn. "Filthy cockaroach.......Say hello to my little friend............You need me to point your fingers and say thats the bad guy, ............so take a good look cause this is the last time you see a bad guy like this again...............................Thats a pig that dont fly strait!!"

these are all frazes and quotes that will be in history for a long time.
