What with the obbession of Paris on this site? If you guys don't like her, don't talk about her. Thats what she wants! The whole point of celebrities and stalking them, is to put things into the news instead of what should be. They want to take our mind off of the war. And they have done an excellent job. There are more posts about paris than about real news. Peace. :hippy:

Ha! Justice! As my internet homepage opened, there it was, back to jail! Burn!

Not only that, she has to serve her full sentence of 45 days in jail now.

It's 45 days sweetheart, don't act as if it's the end of the world. :p

My Way News (http://othernews.ca.myway.com/article//20070608/25584021.html)

Another of her attorneys, Steve Levine, said, "The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, this (jail) is a dangerous place for her."

Jail is a dangerous place forr anybody. They would let any other regular, joe shmoe die in prison before they let them go because they were sad.

Like I said before, welcome to being a human being.

My problem is I don't think what she did deserves jail... everybody doesn't like her because she is sucsessful and rich while being dumb... If I was her and had her money I would do the same thing,,,but i'm a poor working stiff... murderers walk the street and smokers sit in jail,,,it's the same thing here,,,waste of a jail cell that could be used for it's purpose...

although this is what i feel she deserves, i'm pretty pissed off it ended up like this. this just gets her more publicity, more attention, more air-time on the fucking news channels that won't talk about anything else.

and i think this outcome makes out justice system look like shit anyway, the flip-flopping is so stupid, and honestly i'm afraid it's going to make paris hilton into a martyr for being the tennis ball that the sheriff and the judge are hitting back and forth.

this is way bigger than it ever should have been. ugh.

The sad thing is this just makes all the Paris hype all the more wild now. As I said in another thread, this just drives her price further up.

I'm with Skink. I don't think she needed to go to jail in the first place. She's a non-violent offender. They make allowances for those folks, rich or not, all the time in order to preserve jail space for people who represent a real threat to others. The judge sentenced and resentenced her to make a point--and, yes, also because she's famous. There's nothing new about that, either, though. Whoever spends a whole lot of time getting all angry about Paris and others like her hasn't come to terms with the fact that life isnt fair, especially not when money and legal justice come into play. The wealthy will nearly always have an advantage. That's sad, but it's a fact. This is why poor folks, who're often the ones who can least easily realize this, have to take every opportunity that education affords them--because that's their one solitary hope of changing their station in life and accessing a different level of justice and fairness themselves.

ahh yes you know me so well don't you?

you have no idea who i am or what i find appaling.

if she had parking tickets and refused to pay i wouldn't care so much, if she were poor it woudln't make a diffrence. she had her liscesned revoked, EVEN GOT A 2ND FUCKING CHANCE where most would have been sitting in jail forever just waiting to go to court, and still disregaurded it all and kept driving.

it has nothing to do with who she is or her bein grich, other then she thinks she's above the law because she's rich.

and you're barking up the way wrong tree talking to me about unseen justice.

Ok fair enough, but I like my criminals to actually DO something worth serving time for, this is just silly in my opinion.

does she actually have to fucking hit a kid or anybody for you to realize the danger she poses? SHE WAS CAUGHT DRIVING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH NO HEADLIGTHS ON as one of her damn violations.

Dude, it's the fact she is a spoiled bitch. She is 26 and crying for her mommy, it's really a bit sad. She was driving drunk, she showed up late, she had a blatant disrespect for the judicial system, and thought because she is a hilton and a famous whore, she would get off free.

She was wrong, and we all have every right as "decent" human beings to enjoy every minute of her anguish.

She is nothing more than a whiny spoiled bitch. I could care less that she is rich, it's the fact she is a rich bitch that annoys us all.

Cry for us Paris, cry. Of course you went crazy in jail. You were locked up in a cage when you are used to the pampered lifestyle your family gives you. You were not supposed to have a good time. It is supposed to be dark time in your life paris, get over it.

23 days is about the right amount of time. In Florida judges usually give out 5 day jail sentences for each offense of driving on a suspended license, 10 days if the license has been suspended for DUI. They don't give time off for good behavior for these short stints either so she would have gotten about 20 days in Florida for the 2 times she got caught just like everyone else so she isn't getting that harsh of a sentence. Especially when she was photographed driving away from one of her violation hearings.

She is worth between $30-50 million and is driving a nearly $500k car. She can hire a driver.

She wasn't just driving on a suspended license, she was driving badly. She ran through stop signs and didn't have her headlights on one time. She didn't do her alcohol assessment either. She pretty much blew off her probation and now it is time to pay the price.

She also needs to do some community service, something really humbling like working at a homeless shelter or picking up garbage on the side of the road. Working at a soup kitchen for about 1000 hours just might teach her how lucky she is that she has a rich name but I doubt it.

in case you have forgotten, the original charge was dui. i can think of few things more dangerous than a couple of tons of steel being tossed around by someone blasted out of their gourd. by ignoring the court order that suspended her license she showed a blatant disregard for a law designed to protect the people from such potentially deadly actions and, to top it all off, she essentially declared herself above the law by claiming that she was just too important to go to jail.

i spent a hefty portion of my adult life a complete drunk and i can't even begin to count the number of times i plopped my fat ass down behind the wheel of my truck after an afternoon of drinking. when i look back at those years, i kinda wish somebody had tossed me in jail. maybe it would have woken me up to what a dangerous fool i was being and made me realize that i had no right to endanger everyone else for my own pleasure. considering the number of times i woke up with no idea where i was or in someone else's clothes, it was only sheer luck that i never killed myself or anyone else. the very fact that she was lucky enough to get that warning and yet chose to ignore it is reason enough to toss her skinny little butt in jail.

I think this whole Paris thing is worth talking about because when she was first sent back to her mansion to finish her time, it was proof that money can get you around the law even in the USA, which shouldn't be the case. As far as the rest of Paris' life goes, I couldn't give a fuck less. I'm glad her ass got sent back to jail. There may be some hope left for our country!

They make millions. It is understood, when you accept a life of fame, your right to privacy is greatly diminished. I think some respect should be given. If a celeb is out with his/her kids, it would be nice to not have camera's constantly going off in the kids faces, etc.

On top of that, young girls look up to Paris, Lindsey, and the like. They are horrible roll models for young girls and deserve the flack they get. We are the reason they have the money they do. We watching their movies, buy their cd's, go to there concerts, etc. When we buy their product, we are also buying a part of their life. It's how it works.

As for humiliating Paris... She has no talent, didn't even finish high school, can't act, can't sing, and that video of her gobbling on a cock. She was born into money, but has no real right to it other than blood. I don't see her taking over Hilton hotels as she doesn't appear smart enough to run a billion dollar business.

I don't understand why she can't handle this the way Martha Stewart did. She served her time, excepted her punishment, and gained a lot of respect from the public by doing so.

The fact of the matter is this. As celebrities, they have a responsibility to act responsibly.

In summation, Paris deserves all the shit people are currently saying about her and celebrities do not have a right to total privacy. We pay their bills, we buy a part of their life.

Personally I would be happier if half the people in the lime light were all killed in a "tragic" plane crash.

I agree with most of what you say, the media is star crazy and they should leave them alone. I hate turning on the tv and seeing stories on those stupid celebrity news shows like entertainment tonight or whatever. They will run stories about how Eva Longoria just bought a set of bedsheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond or how Kevin Federline just got a job at Sears. Who gives a shit!!!!! But Paris opened the door to some of this public outcry and ridicule she is receiving. By driving wrecklessly on a license suspended for DUI it does affect others so it a matter that concerns others. Also, what really fueled the media flames was her stupid petition. If she would have just done her time quietly there wouldn't be as much to report. But she started an online petition, asking for help from the American people and bringing much more attention to her situation. Did you read the petition? She compares herself to Nixon and brags about how she brings joy to our otherwise mundane lives. She is also called a role model in the petition. Please, give me a break. Would you want your daughter to call Paris her role model? How arrrogant is she to assume that she brings joy to our otherwise mundane lives by drinking her ass off and slutting around? So she kind of brought some of the backlash on herself. Actually, not knid of but a lot.

I do though like stories about pot smoking celebs that do not include the police or mug shots. I like seeing pics of celebs smoking a joint or coming out in favor of pot!

Of course there are a million stories about how someone goes free only to commit a horrific crime later. Does that make Paris' punishment wrong? No, it doesn't. The cameras are now a double edged sword for Paris. Posing for the camera helped her earn an estimated $7 million in 2006. But those same cameras took thousands of pictures of her driving after she signed a document in January 07 stating she understands she is not to drive. I think she was even photographed driving away from court. If the shutterbugs followed around a murderer or pedophile or gang member out on probation and they were photographed breaking the terms of their probation or parole over and over and over again I would hope the judge would take action. Paris is not that stupid, she acts stupid because that is what makes her money. She can't be stupid enough to know that the judge wouldn't know she was still driving. Like I said before, she could have easily hired a driver and her bank account wouldn't have noticed.

It is all of 23 days. She's almost 1/3 of the way done with it. She finally released a statement saying she is dropping her appeal and she is going to do her time and learn from it. Well about damn time. If she did this to begin with it wouldn't be a story and she would be 1/3 done without incident. Oh and she still has a book deal in the works for these 23 days for at least a million. Most people who serve 23 days don't get a million dollar check afterwards. Looks like this (book deal) is kind of a case of special treatment to me.

I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean.

Being on probation sucks. You have to walk a straight and narrow line. She didn't do it and if she is going to do the crime she has to be willing to do the crime.

I know many people who can tell you how strict their PO was and how they were violated because they looked at someone wrong. She has no one to blame but herself.

Not really but after reading your comment below now I see where you are coming from.

I will easily give you that one. The press has spent too much time in front of her house and courthouse. The press spent hours on Friday on Paris watch. The press is still talking about it. I would have been happy to have just seen no coverage on it but the pic of her crying and a quick blurb about how she is going back. I'm not going to talk about the efforts and waste of time and money by the DA yet.

principals are all screwed and your falling into a trap of what is supposedly right and wrong...

If you want to talk about principals then look closely at LA sheriff Lee Baca. He was the one who released her despite the court order stating no home confinement, no electronic monitoring. When he released her he helped open this can of worms. What could be his motivation for releasing her. At first he said medical condition coupled with overcrowding caused the release. Wait, she didn't have a cellmate. Can't be that crowed can it? So let's look at this little statement about Baca's campaign.

Sheriff Lee Baca accepted a $1,000 campaign donation last year from William Barron Hiltonā??Paris's grandfather. That contribution constituted the maximum amount allowable under California campaign rules.
In office since 1998, Baca has cultivated close ties to the Hollywood community. Others who donated money to his campaign last year included Rupert Murdoch, Les Moonves, Ron Meyer, Brad Grey, Steven Segal, and Burt Bacharach. He was assailed last year over a claim by the Sheriff's Department that Mel Gibson had been arrested without incident, when the star had actually spewed anti-Semitic statements after getting pulled over for drunk driving. It soon emerged that Gibson had taped a public service announcement for Baca's relief committee.

It could be about money and greed after all Skink, the greed and wallet of Baca.

So should she go free and the DA and judge ignore it because it might cost too much money and the press are going to spend too much time? Well I feel for the taxpayers of LA county and California so I would like to see how much that hearing on Friday cost. However, right now I don't think that she should have been ignored because then that would be sending the message that a double standard does exist: If your family gives the sheriff a donation then he can make it difficult for the judge to impose sentence so here for $1000 a year you too can get out of DUI. I could afford that but that doesn't make it right.

becasue the stupid bitch is the epitomy of thinking she's special and above justice and she just got showed she's not above justice...

then the other threads were because the county sheriff's showed us she WAS above justice.... and it's down right angering.

if you don't ilke reading them.... don't open them

Good point...

FREE PARIS HILTON Petition : [ powered by iPetitions.com ] (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/PH21781/)

Link provided only to show her narcissism

Another part of the petition that is annoying is this part:

As depicted on Friday night's episode "Nancy Grace" on Headline News (May 4, 2007), countless celebrities have been "slapped on the wrist" for similar incidents recently. Nick Nolte, Mel Gibson, Tracy Morgan, Wynonna Judd, to name a few, were arrested and never did a day in jail after their initial arrests for drunk driving /DUI /DWI charges. Rappers Busta Rhymes and Eve still walk free after both being arrested for the same charges as Ms. Hilton just this past week.

Everyone gets a slap on the wrist for their first DUI (most cases). Doesn't her camp understand she is not being punished for the initial arrest, she is being punished for subsequent violations since the initial sentencing. So yeah Mel got a slap on the wrist but he either hasn't been driving or caught driving since the initial arrest or got a provisional license to drive to work.
