LOS ANGELES - Hours after Paris Hilton was sent home under house arrest Thursday, the judge who put her in jail for violating her reckless-driving probation ordered her into court to determine whether she should be put back behind bars.

Hilton must report to court at 9 a.m. Friday, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press.

"My understanding is she will be brought in in a sheriff's vehicle from her home," Parachini said.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer issued his order after the city attorney filed a petition late Thursday afternoon questioning whether Sheriff Lee Baca should be held in contempt of court for releasing Hilton on Thursday morning.

The celebrity inmate was sent home from the Los Angeles County jail's Lynwood lockup shortly after 2 a.m. for an unspecified medical condition in a stunning reduction to her original 45-day sentence.

She was ordered to finish her sentence under house arrest, meaning she could not leave her four-bedroom, three-bath home in the Hollywood Hills until next month.

"What transpired here is outrageous," county Supervisor Don Knabe told The Associated Press, adding that he received more than 400 angry e-mails and hundreds more phone calls from around the country.

Hilton's return home gives the impression of "celebrity justice being handed out," he said.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo complained that he learned of her release the same way as almost everyone else â?? through news reports.

"It is the city attorney's position that the decision on whether or not Ms. Hilton should be released early and placed on electronic monitoring should be made by Judge Sauer and not the Sheriff's Department," said Jeffrey Isaacs of the city attorney's office.

Sauer himself had expressed his unhappiness with Hilton's release before Delgadillo asked him to return her to court. When he sentenced Hilton to jail last month, he ruled specifically that she could not serve her sentence at home under electronic monitoring.

Parachini said Sauer reminded the Sheriff's Department of that when he learned Hilton was about to be released.

"He reiterated the terms of his sentencing order. He did not agree to the terms of release that the sheriff proposed," Parachini told the AP before Delgadillo asked that Hilton be returned to court.

But, Parachini said at the time, it is the sheriff and not the judge who decides when inmates are released from jail.

Delgadillo's office indicated that it would argue that the Sheriff's Department violated Sauer's May 4 sentencing order.

the sentenicing judge is not happy with her release, i think she's going back... (after all the judge does call the shots...)

What did she even do?

had her liscense revoked durring an intoxicated driving incident, then later, again while drunk, got caught driving, and claimed she had no idea it was revoked/suspended (but she signed a paper stating she understood it was) got sentenced to jail, (in which the judge specificly said she had to go to jail for said ammount of time, and home arrest was not an option, and if she didn't show she would get double the ammount of time) then got out after just a few days because of 'mental issues' and put on house arrest...

Eh.

I don't hate her.

Jail sucks. Noone should be put there. Been there and done it. When the fact that you're in jail finally hits you, you start to fall apart. And just you wait for the moment after your first nap where you wake up and don't even remember you're in prison. Oh jolly roger is all I have to say about that. I cracked up to tears more than once, and, I was a grown-ass man at the time. I can see how someone like her would go batshit loco in an isolation cell and she's lucky she could get out, because, no matter who you are, with garbage kid charges like she had on her, noone deserves to be sent somewhere for the express cause of having a nervous breakdown and trying for hours to get it back together.

I do credit prison with straightening my ass out. It felt like my prayers were actually answered. I felt like a better, more appreciative man aftward, to be honest. That's just me, though. All I got was a little lesson-teacher sentence, not even as long as paris' 40 days, too. But, certain things happened just before i was to report in to serve the time that led to me not knowing if I was getting out on time or would become remanded for violating terms of the plea agreement. Had I actually known for sure I was getting out on time, I would not been nearly as stressed. Its hard to sit in a suicide watch cell because you OD'd two days before you had to turn yourself in and wonder if your po or the judge are fixing to remand you to prison until they are ready to hammer your ass for fucking up during the week's grace period the judge was generous enough to grant.

But, in closing, if you know what its like to crack up in a prison, you can hate her all you want, but still feel okay with what just happened. Noone deserves that mindfuck for such petty charges.

I don't know if I would have went through the stress I did had I the security of knowing I'm getting out when I'm supposed to. But, I'm not about to go back with a definate sentence to find out.

Jail sucks. Noone should be put there

i was there over a year and it straightened me out MIGHT FUCKING QUICK so i strongly disagree............... she's a convicted drunk driver caught driving drunk again, to me drunk drivers are just as bad as murderers, only some may have not commitd their 'murder' yet and very few may get lucky and never commit theirs...

when you put other peoples life in danger cuz youw anna have fun or have an addiction, you deserve to be locked up.... end of story.

i'm all for legal EVERY drug, so long as the user is responsible and safe... and that even spans to weed... i've made my feelings known before... smoke weed and drive? sorry, i know what weed does to me, it may or may not be scientificly proved yet, but i feel that's just as dangerous and bad as driving while drunk...

in short, put others life in danger, you deserve whatever happens to you... you have no right to take someone's mother or brother or cousin or friend, just cuz you wanna have fun or make bad decisions...

i'm all about preventiveness.... it doesn't do a whole lot of good to lock someone up AFTER they kill someone, that friend/family has already lost their loved one, you going to jail doesn't change that...

editing cuz your for edit: BULLSHIT, i was locked up, i'm happy i went. it made me see wher ei needed to change so i don't go back, and i worked hard to change that and i haven't been back or even really close and that was nearly 7 years ago... i changed what i had to change and haven't even been close to be back.......

as any real prisoner says "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime" if you ain't ready to face the consequences, don't fucking do it, simple as that. she knew good and well she was suspended, and knew good and well she was too intoxicated to drive, it wasn't like she was one one drink of beer over the limit... she just thought she could buy her way out... she deserves to go back, and personally, i hope ht ejudge nails her for all he can, the 90 days he threatened if she didn't go.

Not particularly, no. All I know of this is what i see when I go downstairs to make food and flick on the tube.

Media and news doesn't concern nor excite me great deals. When I first hear a story, its interesting. When that story is still around after a week, not so much.

Its my understanding she was caught driving on a suspension. Twice.
She violated Probation.
She's demonstrating how justice in this country isn't fair nor balanced nor right in any way at all when it comes to treating one criminal like all of the other criminals.

As far as I know:

A) You DO NOT get away with violating probation (twice) and get offered terms of early parole for good behavior. Least of all in a COUNTY jail. Federal or state, maybe. When they bust you down from state to county, its not unheard of to get paroled early for model bahavior and common decency toward your COs, since you've already served a year or more by that time. Your P.Officer will revoke and revise your terms of sentence after a violation, typically to middle or maximun degree, if they can.

B) The new exciting news: One night in jail and a few tears later, she's sitting at home suntanning. Wow. The only time I heard of a sheriff or warden dismissing a sentence was when someone who tried to commit suicide succeeded in doing enough brain damage to themselves that they will factor in the fact that he would be a burden of the state in prison. Where were these sympathetic assholes when my tears hit the concrete.

But, even in terms of non-celeb criminals, justic is a money/popularity game. It always ran on a 'good ole boys' system. If you can afford it, or if you know somebody that knows somebody, you can find a way to do 10 days for ripping someone's eyes out.

This isn't shocking, the way things are unfolding. Seen it all my life, before she was even born. Justice is blind, but she can still afford a mansion.

This doesn't excite me. It annoys me. Or what? Meh.

Can't be bothered to get too worked up over the whole deal. Some people get maxed and some get a slap on the pinky with a feather duster. That won't change. Life is not fair.

Stellar
06-08-2007, 04:59 AM
Maybe I'm wrong to feel sympathetic towards her.

I don't know her well enough to say she should sit and rot.

She just doesn;t strike me as the kind of person that would even come close to being able to handle it. Nor does she strike me as the kind of person that would learn and hold onto any lesson taught in 20 days. Seems kind of moot.

I'd slam her with a year with no shot at parole. Anything less is a goddamn joke that I can't find validity in executing against her.

I dont know anything about her, though. From what i hear, shes a party animal and a tv attention mongerer.
