Ford owns.

you're crazy o.0 from y personal experience fords break down badly and often... shit the lincoln we have (which is made by the ford company) is constanly crapping out, so did the truck we had before that, so did my 'aunt's' car nearly weekly (escort, like a 90's model, but this was long time ago, back when 90's models were new <.<)

sorry i just don't trust them.. when they work, they aren't any worse then any other car, just my personal experience with them, will lead me to never trust one again... (no one in my family has EVER had a broken down chevy unless it had like 300,000 miles on it or more <.< just routine maitnence done, air filters, oil, bearings, breaks, etc)

again, like i said, it just comes down to personal prefrence and expereinces... <.< didn't mean to dog your car if it sounded like that.. take care of her and i'm sure she'll repay the favor... not a bad looking model, body wise tho.. and black is my fav color of cars

i have a ford motor in my pickup, and a chevy in my car, both are from the same age, both i did the same amount of work on (new carb, timing, big airfilter, carb, and headers) and my car lasted me about 2 months before i blew the motor in that, and my pickup lasted me 5 years before i blew it, and its not even fully blown i just need a new lifter, my cars fucked though. both motors had about the same kind of driver, and about the same length on the road. and i raced my pickup, and my car both, and the ford beat the car by a long fucking shot. fords do own! '68 Shelby Mustang! or the '68 boss 427's with the overhead cam FE 427 putting out 600 to the ground from the factory!

when i say fords suck i'm not talking about racing cars/motors...

i'm talking about the average six banger used for commuting back and fourth to work o.0

and if you wanna go racing, i bet my dream car would whip the shit outta that 427....

69 camaro ss 454..

oh and i do absolutely love old mustangs (70 or older, but i prefer 68 shelby gt 500 out of htem all, and not just from the movie, i had an obsession with that car before that movie even came out) but i still bet my camaro would beat it.

 beautiful fucking cars.... The 1968 GT 500 KR Shelby Cobra (http://thecarsource.com/shelby/1968/gt500kr.shtml)

if you mean baja, yeah, with the right modifications any car can go to baja (that's abou the only thing beetles are good for, other then economy...) just some would cost so much more to modify it's not even worth the time...

beeltes are awesome in baja cuz of their short body and rear engines... it really helps between those famous jumps... it's alot harder to slam down critically..... alot harder to flip, atleast lengthwise, and everyone knows you lose speed when you have a car land front wheels first (unless your car is front wheel drive and those are typically reserved for imports and rally racers) that engine in teh back helps bring down the traction wheels faster and keep speed better then a front mounted motor.

haha... Lmao! baja vans! shit you just showed me a new one <.<

the video won't play but i never said anything about dirt, just baja style racing (lots of bumps and jumps and what not, in that type of racing you REALLY need to get your drive wheels on the ground as fast as possible and with that type of racing, it REALLY needs to be the rear wheels... and again, their short length is really helpful too...)

all manufacturs have their faults, some it was cosmetic, some it was mechanical, they all suffer from it from time to time. look at the new chevy pickups, ugly as hell, dodge has the best motor with the cummins, in the heavy trucks, and fords look like a semi. and in the 80's i dont care, all cars sucked. as far as mechanical. thats part of the reason why i blew the motor in my 85 monte carlo ss, those 305's are junk, so i got an older 350 for it, knowing those will last a bit longer, but i had a old 302 that had 3 pistons cracked and no compression on them, and that thing still ran and i drove it for a few years like that. if you want a tough motor small block mopars would be the strongest. those in a durby car kill! they run cool, and if you loose your radiator they still will run. the chevy 350 was actually built around a ford flathead. and they took the faults of that motor and made it better, ford then copied that design along with mopar. ford changed the heads alot and they flow a little better. same with mopar. thats where chevy looses alot of power. any more, all motors are about equal. they all run the same, all last about the same length, the biggest thing now is going to be the hybrids and deseals. its just all a matter of personal preference. if i had any car though it would have to be a shelby cobra, or an old GT-40 (note: the only american car to win lamans, and did it in 1, 2 and 3 for a few years) or a Yenko Camaro or Nova.

I'd take Chevy over ford anyday, but I still think Ford is a good car maker. I got one that has needed maybe 900 bucks worth of work in about 20 years (ofcourse it's not mint). . .

68 Camaro all the way!

Good luck with the insurance - you'll need it! Infact, the insurance will almost certainly be more than the car is worth.

My old man has a ford mondeo - had it since '98 and it's never let him down once, it's still got the original break pads [70% worn at last service], still got the original exhaust, it's only had one new battery, the suspension is still fine - and he drives like me - a nutter.

And my escort is the same, the only problems i've ever had with my escort van was a battery that wouldnt hold it's charge - and technically that's the battery, not the cars fault.

The big van i've got, the transit has only had the exhaust changed once, break pads twise, and cam belt.

I dont know how good Ford is in the states, but over here in the UK they're one of the most reliable makes - and i've never had any kind of problem with em what so ever.

For some reason i decided to attach a pic of my ford racing coat.

I forgot to put that at the end lol - it is quite a nice car.

AS far as i can remember you havnt passed your test yet - which is good coz you can sort the interior out and do those bits to it that you want, so that when you do pass your test your ready to go with it.

What's your budget? Coz there lots of thing you can do to it - but it'll cost ya. If it's worth doing, its worth doing properly, and if it's done properly, it costs money.

first things to do is exaust and intake, those you will notice the power right away (not to mention better fuel milage) the next thing after that would be suspention and anti-roll bars, get a good set of adjustable coil overs, that way you can tuck the wheels up in the fender. and depending on how much money you want to spend, i would pull the motor, find a limited slip dif. and rebuild that motor with forged everything from crank to pistons, and balence and blue print it (get it as close to the tightest specs as possible) and port and polish the heads, find a turbo kit for that car (recommend a garrett T3/T4 hybrid) and big intercooler, blow off valve, bigger throttle body, cam(s) and injectors, then tune the turbo in with a computer and chassis dyno. if you do that, and set your boost at 20 PSI you should be putting out around 500 horse, when doing that, make sure you build up your tranny too, i would go with a lightweight flywheel (loose a little on top end, but you will get there a lot sooner) and a multi disk clutch. after all of that you will have a car that could take on a lambo

We drive on the left, not the right. Hence us having the wheel on the right hand side. I've driven a left hand for about 5 minutes and couldnt stand it. I'd rather walk. Left hand might be ok if you drive on the right, but left hand in the UK is shit. Much like a right hand would be in the US.
