All right, this is simple enough. When do you think Pink Floyd had its best sound? Was it in the early acid rock days of Syd Barret? The Psychadelic influence of David Gilmore? Or maybe the hard rock of Rodger Waters?

As much as I love early Pink Floyd, I've got to go with Gilmore on this one. Dark Side of the Moon > Jesus. Somedays.

their top three albums are WYWH, DSOTM, animals, albums in which david gilmour shows his stuff.
the wall is mediocre and laden with filler. the pre-meddle stuff is just not good.

No love for Syd yet. Maybe it's the whole acid insanity thing... But anyways, has anyone tried listening to the Floyd live show on 7-16-70 Paris Cinema - BBC Archives? How about Intersteller Encore?
And OniEhtRedrum781, I'm with you. Waters IS a whiny bitch. I tend to hold him responsible for the fact the Pink Floyd isn't still touring. Or at least playing the rare show.

Yeah man i feel bad for Syd.:( But I had to go with Dave. I mean I like the acid Syd years but they're just that; nice to listen to. Man the stuff Dave and Roger came out with had some serious soul that just fills you though. And I felt it most with David. A Momentary Lapse of Reason doesn't get enough credit I think.

i hold this against him too, he caused the power struggle that tore the band apart.
pink floyd is the #1 band i would most like to see live in concert.
the allman brothers are #2 and i'm seeing them in september. i'm gonna get stoned out of my mind for it and die and go to heaven right there :stoned:

I haven't heard them when Syd was still with them, but my favorite album is Wish You Were Here. Sadly I haven't heard all of their music, but I also really like Animals, Meddle, and The Wall. Momentary lapse is pretty cool too, and so is Dark Side, though I think it's kinda overhyped as it's not their best IMO. Though I consider myself a big Floyd fan, I don't really know enough about their history to vote on my favorite member. I guess you could look at my favorite albums and judge from that, though it's probably a mix. But I'd say my top two are WYWH and Animals, though I also really like the song Echoes from Meddle and The Wall movie.
