So, being a guitarist I always paid more attention to guitars than anything else. Well now that I'm in a band where I also sing, I am beginning to really appreciate some of the range and dextrerity of a lot of singers.

So my question is who does everybody think the best vocalists are/were?

My picks in no kind of order.....

Brent Smith - Shinedown
Robert Plant - Led Zepplin
Layne Stayley - Alice in Chains
Chris Cornell - Soundgarden, Audioslave, etc.

Of that list Brent Smith is probably my favorite, but it's hard for me to say that any one of those guys is better than the others.

We kinda got a Breaking Benjamin kind of sound...I just sing backup, mostly harmonies.

I don't know them, but I will ck their sound out. I'm jealous, I'd love to be able to sing well!

In terms of purity and range, Chris Garneau by far.

My personal favorite is Bradley Novell. No one can sing like he can.
