People just dont seem to care anymore abt anything.Today i was driving behind some one for abt 10 mins in that ten mins a burger wrapper, cup and a smoke butt was thrown out this idiots car,i tooted him but he just gave the finger. Then later went to the park to kick the ball with the kids and my 7 y.o nearly stepped on a needle that a junkie had left in the middle of the park.It has made me fume. What happened to all the decent folk that do care about other people and the environment? Is it just me or are people gettin worse?.Does anyone care ?

I feel you brotha...The shit is getting rediculous. You can't have nice things in this world anymore without serious protection. We need to start fighting the war that's going on here on our own soil.

My car was just broken into LAST NIGHT. They smashed the rear window to get in. And all they stole were my damned subwoofers. The cheapest part of my entire mobile entertainment system...

People are on retard binges or something.

people still care, we just live in the boonies. ive noticed that a lot of city dwellers don't give two shits about much of anything. but i give people a really really hard time about littering, i don't shop at wal-mart (dont even get me started on that rant) and i buy AMERICAN made whenever possible.

You can go to ANYWHERE in the world and find trash, even the most remote places. Overpopulation of our planet is creating a problem in more aspects than one.

I think the area you live in has a lot to do with it. Living on the coasts in the US is a completely different way of life than in the midwest. Same thing with all large cities in the world.

I don't lock my doors, or worry about my car getting stolen, and I love it.

A normal site in England is burger wrappers, cups, black sacks of rubbish and all sorts of shit, including a REDICULOUS amount of burnt out and abandoned cars littering the roads and motorways. Just the other day i was driving about east london, got on a stip of duel carridge way and in the right lane was this kids back garden toy thing, i had to call the police to tell them while i was driving, because i doubt anyone else would bother. LOL - I was breaking a law to help others. Wow, i could have been done for that. Oh well.

Your right, no one cares anymore, and that's wrong. It's not hard to just put your joints out in the hash tray[lol] or keep the crap and throw it away at home. Fly tippin is a big thing in England.

Agreed!

I've actually done a small personal survey a while back.

Each time I saw someone litter and asked people a few questions about it. (Didn't take long, got 6 people in 1hr., AT A PARK!)

Most people figure they won't be here long enough to see the damage they do take an affect on the world...

But the reality is far too simple to try and explain to them. Reality is, they JUST witnissed the damage as they through that cup out the window or threw that cigarette in that stream...

I guess the only solution that's a sure thing is to attempt to make things that are used in situations where people are outdoors biodegradable...Hell I don't know but this is an on-going issue that's been around since toiletpaper.

in PA we have this program called adopt a highway. you can take a two mile stretch of highway and keep it clean. there will be a blue sign with whatever name you choose on the bottom of it.

It used to be like that in England - you could leave the doors unlocked - you could even leave babies in their prams outside the grocers or wherever - but not now. These days that's asking for trouble - and these dats trouble WILL reply. Really, when we think about all this, it's just prove that we're ruining this world. It's not a nice place to be. Not REALLY.

I blame the nanny state, people expect to be told what's good and bad for them these days, and by the same token take no responsibility for the health of their environment either. The supermarkets share a large part of the blame for this as well.

When I walk around the countryside, which is quite regularly, the amount of crap I see lying around is ridiculous. If it's not picked up it gets eaten by the ground, and eventually becomes part of the soil.

It's not just idiots tossing their empty cans aside either, its farmers who don't give a shit, in a forest near here there a electrical cables slowing dissappearing into the ground and allsorts from some industry that probably went bust or something. It's quite astounding how the government can take so much of your earnings and spend nearly half a million on a stupid fucking logo for the olympics that's not even good, yet they can't pay people to go round these places tidying up. THey spend thousands on "green machines", some brain dead moron on community service or something driving around the streets tidying it up slightly, noisily, unneccesarily most of the time, but they can't pay someone to go into a field and go round picking up all the crap and putting in a bag. Jesus, I'm on the dole at the moment! I'd do it for a couple of hours for an extra tenner a day! No work they say!

One time I got stopped by a farmer in some fields nearby where I lived, you look like a decent fellow he said, you are welcome, I've seen you around and just wanted to talk to you. For his kindness, in the last two days I lived there I spent two afternoons going round some bushes picking up all the shit peopel had thrown into his field from the road, traffic cones, road signs and everything. You wouldn't beleive the shit I gathered, about 15 bin bags full and that was only about 5% of the area!

In the old days when people belevied in re-incarnation and that, they acted more carefully. Nowadays no-one thinks, maybe in a future incarnation I'll be living on this land growing vegetables, and the dioxins from this plastic bottle I have rather carelesly discarded might be in my onions.

So true. And i agree with the logo - I'm not a fan of the olympics - and i certainly dont want it held in my home city. The logo is pathetic, it cost half a million and it looks like something i could have painted with a painbrush sticking out of my arse hole.

I said the day we got it "we'll be bombed, you mark my fucking words" and what happened the next day? We got bombed. Fuck darn it. It'll happen again, it's MORE than obvious.

LOL @ painting with your arse :D I think the guy just squeezed a few tubes of flouroescent paint up his backside and then filmed it as he farted it all back out onto a piece of paper.

and...

Shit don't say that man. I know what you mean though, if it doesn't get bombed, we'll probably end up paying 10 times the cost of the logo for security and about 6 months before hand listening to the news about, then probably 6 years after that on the news about how they cocked it all up and it was a conspiracy and now there has to be an investigation into alleged corruption.

I think the logo looks like something Keith Flint could have knocked up on his laptop in half an hour, it's got the same kind of violent edginess to it, I suppose you could call that an isomorphism, Keith Flint and the olympics logo.

That and the new scottish parliament building, its like the start of some new modern art craze, most definately a sign of the times.

When I was a kid, ONE income was enough to support a family of 5 AND still put away a little for a rainy day. We ran in and out of everyones home and were safe at any of our friend's homes. Now, two incomes are barely enough to support a SMALL family. Our children now lack MOTHERS. The "block mother" is a thing of the past, as is safety in other people's homes.

I think about 1/3 or more of the kids in my school have crack-head parents, alcoholic parents, or just plain old insane parents! One girl has Mom, Dad and Mom's boyfriend all in prison! She is living with her aunt, who is no better! (They hid the guns under the sofa cushions when CPS came calling! I imagine they hid other things as well!) I hear this stuff on a daily basis! Who will these neglected/abused kids turn out to be? I do what I can, but it's NEVER enough to save them!

Until we get back to the point where we have stay at home moms or at least having those wonderful "block Moms", we will see more and more of these "lost children"! Have you hugged your child today? - Granny:hippy:
