24 hrs, 18/6, 20/4 are all vegging times. This is when the plant is growing up.

12/12 is when the plants are matured and ready to show/showing sex and this cycle will bring them up till harvest.

24hrs is good for a week after cloning etc or when the plant is very little, but its good have 20/4 or 18/6 because it gives ure equipment/the plants a rest.
