SALT LAKE CITY - A woman was held up during a fill-up. The woman was pumping gasoline Sunday morning when a man stuck something in her back, told her it was a gun and ordered her to start filling up his sport utility vehicle instead of her own car, said Salt Lake City police Detective Jared Wihongi.

"This is definitely not common," Wihongi said Monday.

The woman put $15 worth in the other vehicle's tank before her debit card reached its limit.

Wihongi said surveillance video at the station showed two men in a large, white sport utility vehicle with Wyoming license plates. They could face aggravated robbery charges.

The woman was so shaken up by the incident she didn't call police until about three hours later.

Ok this guy is a idiot and a jack ass. What if he shoots and misses and blows up the gas station. And what kind of person robs someone for gas. What a asshole.

hahaha I'm sorry that's funny as shit. I doubt that will become common, at least not in my area, maybe Wyoming where there's nothing better to do.

me and you look at it diffrently.. what has this world become when a guy sticks up someone for gas... of course i think he's in the wrong but still it shows what this gas price hikes has brought out...

even more so, it's not hte movies... even shooting a puddle of glass on concrete and creating sparks, still highly unlikely the gas station would explode... and one step further, i doubt highly they were planning on shooting to begin with...

again, it all comes back to what gas prices are doing to people...

Yeah, this type of crime, although very low and bad, is also a good wake-up call to Washington and consumer-America.

Its bad that it even happened. Gas is to us a crack is to a crack head everyone knows whats it like to scrape change to put 5 bucks in your tank, which gets you 1.3 gallons, watch your back!

lmao, this is hilarious...I would've simply turned around and been like...$3.00 fucking dollars a gallon, get your own shit..

for the record though, I'd say it was probably just a squeegee...lol, "fill my car up now, or I'm gonna fire this pistol and hope I don't ignite any of these fumes" what a fucking idiot

or slightly educated... cuz only movie educated idiots these days believe a single spark or minimal flame a gun shoots off will ignite gas fumes, much less the liquid concentrated fuel it's self..

got a gun? test yourself, put the chamber right in a small pool of gas.... fire and fire til your clip/chamber/revolver is empty... bet you 50 bucks it won't light

what a dickhead this is what those rich oilboy bastards are causing with their greedy gas prices while they probably wipe their asses with $100 bills i would have sprayed that guy in the eyes with gas (gas in the eye is worse than mace if you ask me) and once he could not see i would pump it into his mouth and yell here's your 15 in gas bitch cause you know that was no gun he had guarantee it anyway $15 is not even that much gas in a large SUV my mom has an extended cab silverado and $15 won't even get a quarter tank

he should have just cyphoned it from some one. Some times my friends and I have done it just for practical joke. The reaction must be price less when people find out they don't have any gas. I'm an asshole, I know.

Your right because i seen on mythbusters they were provin if you fire into a gas can like from a car it won't explode. They fired at it with everything from hand guns to Ak's and it didn't blow up only lite up when they used the tracer rounds.

You could imagine that crime catching on in the good old UK where petrol (gasoline) is the equivilent of 8 dollars a gallon but surely not where petrol is so cheap.

Cheers

kind of a tough crime to get away with considering there would be cameras pointed at your license plate.

That's how petty the world has become. It's like old people being mugged over here in England for less then £5.
