"Smoking pot can cause abnormal increased breast development in males called gynecomastia (sorry, ladies, no such side effect for you)."
"This is because chronic use in males has been shown to decrease blood levels of sex hormones, including testosterone, which can lead to decreased sexual pleasure, low sperm counts and decreased sperm mobility and yes, also to the increased development of breasts in males."

Soon all of us males are going to have C cup tittys.

lol i like that new one... back in 30s they said it made you paranoid and made you kill your neighbors and have sex. But now it doesnt sound so scary anymore so... nowadays it will most likely make a man grow titties, lower his testosterone levels and eventually turn him into a woman...
hahahahahahhahhahhhahahaahahhaahhahhhhahhahahahahh ahahahahhahhahahhhahhahhahahh

well if i grow boobs i hope they r tight and round so i can squeeze em every day...

It's very rare but yeah it can happen. But males who don't smoke weed can get the same shit... It's really rare and for the most part, a myth. I've never seen or heard of any actual accounts of it

An abstract from the University of Iowa study says it all.....

University of Iowa Anesthesia Publications (http://www.anesth.uiowa.edu/readabstract.asp?PMID=1935564)

" Effects of chronic marijuana use on testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, prolactin and cortisol in men and women.

Block RI, Farinpour R, Schlechte JA
To investigate possible effects of chronic marijuana use on reproductive and stress hormones, we assayed testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, prolactin, and cortisol in 93 men and 56 women with a mean (+/- S.E.) age of 23.5 +/- 0.4 years. Hormone values were compared among groups of subjects stratified according to frequency of marijuana use (frequent, moderate and infrequent; N = 27, 18, and 30, respectively) and non-using controls (N = 74). Chronic marijuana use showed no significant effect on hormone concentrations in either men or women."

To put is simply, no hormone changes = no man boobs, no impotence, etc. Nor will it make your girl a lesbian or a raging nympho. - Granny:hippy:

I've been doing a research project on the effects of weed on the body and mind. This one book i got for research says.....

"Gynecomastia. The enlargement of breast glands in males, a common transient occurrence among adolescents, has long been rumored to be affected by cannabis use. Gynecomastia also is caused by cirrhosis of the liver, by testicular, adrenal, and pituitary tumors, and by steroids, amphetamines, and other drugs. In 1972 a team of researchers presented fourteen cases of breast development in young men who had smoked cannabis for sevral years. Others were excluded. Only three of the fourteen patients experienced a decrease in breast development after abstaining from cannabis. A controlled study in 1977 of eleven gynecomastic U.S. soldiers in Germany found only "anon-association between idiopathic gynecomastia and chronic cannabis use." If cannabis has any effect on gynecomastia, it depends on dosage, potency, frequency of use, and the endrocrinolofy of the individual."

Haha, teenhealthfx.com? What a ridiculous site. Obviously nothing they say about Cannabis should be taken seriously.

I've heard of this ridiculous claim before, too. It's just bullshit. Nobody I have ever known has developed breasts due to smoking cannabis. They claim it's "possible," but for all the people that I know that smoke... I'm sure at least one of them would have developed breasts by now if this was true.

Toke on, brothers! :rastasmoke:.

TeenHealthFX - Answers - High Times (http://www.teenhealthfx.com/answers/acd-5.htm)
TeenHealthFX - Answers - Marijauna's Permanent Side Effects (http://www.teenhealthfx.com/answers/acd-10.htm)

I've heard of these ridiculous claims before, too. It's just bullshit. Nobody I have ever known has developed breasts due to smoking cannabis. They claim it's "possible," but for all the people that I know that smoke... I'm sure at least one of them would have developed breasts by now if this was true.
Also, I've never heard of anyone simply becoming retarded from "burnt out braincells", considering loss of brain cells is not a permanent loss. Also, I find it funny how they say these are permanent effects. They say that lung damage is permanent, but it's not. I'm sure a lot of you out there who use vaporizers (who used to smoke) can tell us for sure that your lungs have greatly improved since you've stopped smoking. Obviously it's not permanent damage :).

"Smoking marijuana 6-9 times per week is not just bad for you, it is terrible for you. It leads to a lost weekend when you are high most of the time. It is definitely not cool! And that is not all."

"Weekend smoking often slowly leads to smoking during the week and eventually can cause a lot of problems."

Notice that both of these claims have no evidence to back them up. Absolutely none.

"This is not reality-based and seems like a method of escaping the real world, which is not good."

Escaping the real world? Of course. Everyone needs an escape from the "real world." Our society is such shit... why should we not be able to relax and get away for a couple hours? Sleeping is an escape from the real world, too! In my opinion, I see nothing wrong with "escaping the real world" as long as you're not causing others harm... even if it is harmful to you; which cannabis is not.

"Marijuana's short-term effects are:

1. Risk of Bad Marijuana - Marijuana could be laced without your knowledge with anything making it even more dangerous. If it is mixed with other drugs or poisons, it can do physical damage to your body (sometimes deadly).
2. Decreased Mental Abilities - You may put yourself in situations where you practice unsafe sex, which can lead to a sexually transmitted disease. You may also get behind the wheel of a car to drive, leading to a deadly accident.
3. Difficulty with Concentration & Mental Confusion - Marijuana may cause you to forget easily, and have difficulty studying and learning.
4. Bloodshot Eyes - It just doesn't look good!
5. Excessive hunger - You may eat unhealthy food that you are craving due to marijuana use. This can lead to weight gain.
6. Sleepiness - Your weekend's no fun if you sleep through it."

The risk of "bad marijuana" is very low anyway. And if it was legal, there wouldn't be any of the "bad marijuana" going around. Funny they never thought of that (probably because they didn't want to). Everything else is part of the point of smoking it! Geez. How can they possibly use these as arguments? Rofl.

"Marijuana's long term effects are:

1. Psychological Dependence - You may start feeling like you need the drug to get by in your daily living, which is not good for you and very expensive.
2. Increased Tolerance - Your body may require more and more marijuana to get the desired effect.
3. Sexual Issues - Marijuana effects your hormone levels causing a lack of sexual pleasure, decreased sperm count in males and infertility in females."

The psychological dependence can apply to everything... not just cannabis. Increased tolerance, yes... that is true to an extent. But I have noticed that with my tolerance, I don't need to smoke more to get the "desired effect," it just lasts a shorter time. Sexual issues? It has never been proven, and they have no evidence to back it up.

Honestly, I had a very fun time picking this apart, and exposing their ignorance.

Toke on, brothers! (and sisters :) ):rastasmoke:.

EDIT: Excuse my double-post, I didn't mean to. Have fun :).

I happen to believe this as I seen it in myself... We are all genetically different so I say it is possible in some Men... We don't know half the things cannabis can do because we are hell bent on creating drugs chemically instead of the way nature intended,,,naturally...
