is my browser acting up or do we now need to log in to access the member list? If we do then I will not be posting nearly as often. I use a slow proxy everytime I log in. I preffer to view my previous posts and see replys then log in if I want to add to the thread. Now, If I have to log in just to review my previous posts, I will be at it all night long.

Why do you need the members list to veiw posts???
You can view the forums without logging in,,,isn't that what you want to do???

Any chance we can pettition the owners/mods to change it back? This realy ruins the site for me. I am too paranoid to sign in to sites like this without a proxy.

Skink (nice avatar) I like to follow up on threads i posted to last time I was on cancom. I like to see responses to what i wrote. I can only think of one way to do that and that is to go to my name in the members list, check all posts by me and simply click the links, read what others have written then log on to add a post or hit the back button on my browser and check the next one on my list of posts.
I was hoping a mod could explain why the change was made and if there is any chance of changing it back?
Thanks.

Another thought...The old way encouraged continuity and community. The new way would seem to encourage the random, "hit amd run" posts if that makes sense. If I know I'm never going to come back to a thread I (as an example) might be more tempted to post irrelevant or rude comments. I hope you understand what I mean. Please don't jump on me, I'm mature enough not to do such things but the essence, the feel of cancom is definately changed by this, and IMHO not for the better.

Just go to one of your posts and click on your name next to your avatar>then select "Veiw All Posts By you"... a list of posts from you will show up on a page... I just did this while logged out...

We mods have no control on the inner workings of the board... the administrator looks at this section and he has the power to make changes...
Most peeps do not use a proxy and are not into stealth... we on the other hand are into keeping the stuff on this board legal and make every effort to protect you and us,,,so there should be little fear coming here... Ultimately what I am saying is,,,logging in is probably a measure to protect us all...

Wow thats all too confusing to me lol
its amazing how little you can understand when stoned :stoned:
Why not just subscribe to the threads you post in, and make sure you DONT get email notifications [they'll drive you insane, i got over 82 in one day]
Then, ALL you have to do is go into your user CP and it'll have a list of the threads you've posted on, on the first page. That's easier than any other way of doing things. Infact, as far i know that's how most people do it.
Why go all through the members list and through your profile when it's not needed?

I think what he is saying is he wants to veiw the posts without loging in,,,in order to go to the subscribed posts he would have to log in...
