Cool temps during flowering will turn your plant purple - but it doesnt make it better. Infact, that's what dickhead dealers and growers do - so they can make more cash. I hope that's not why you want to.

Nah he probably just wants to see what it's like for his bud to have purple on it lol.

Keep your temps. below 70degF, and the purple will start to show.

It's actually a sign of stress. The cooler temps. slow down the flow of nutes getting to the leaves, so the leaves turn purple as a sign of stress. Perty colors, but that's about it.

I don't understand why someone would pay more due to the color of the purple buds. Who cares, as long as I get high, I don't care what color it is.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. We all appreciate bud but like you said if you're high as shit then the bud is good, so what difference does it make what color the bud is haha. And I didn't even read the last bit of the post. No food coloring will not work. I'm sure you don't want to be inhaling the food coloring that's on the bud when it's burning. Green or purple, really doesn't matter the bud still looks good, especially when it's covered in trichomes :).

While I may be useless in terms of changing the quality, I think that's pretty interesting.
... I'd be happy if I could keep my temps below 80.

Yeah I hear ya man, for some reason my temps just don't seem to be in the 70's anymore. I think it's because the humidity is lower, the were vegging with a humidity level of 60-65 and the temps were cool but every since the dehumidifier was moved in room and brought humidity down it's been no lower than 80 and no higher than 90 (yes some times it has been fuckin 90 in there). I hope my buds don't turn out all fluffy and shit because of that.

And I need to learn how to proof read my damn posts... "I may be useless"... not that it isn't true, but I didn't mean that this time. hehe

Also not sure what I'm going to do when summer actually gets it's ass into gear up here. It's one thing to explain why I have a big ass wood box in my office, it's another thing to explain why there is an air conditioner hooked up to it.

I agree with Dizzy, it is hard to keep temps. that low, especially now that spring/summer is ahead of us

Temps can increase purple tendencies but the strain has to be ABLE to do it anyway.
PurpleMaxx from humbolt nutes also does that.
Or just grow a purple strain....
Food coloring? No.
