I have a hope... A dream, if you will.

I hope that one day, the governments will reform marijuana laws that actually make some sort of sense, rather than living in a state of uneducated paranoia and labelling it as a "dangerous drug" when actually there is nothing dangerous about it at all.

I hope that one day, honest and responcible users of the marijuana plant will not have to turn to black market skum to attain our beloved plant.

I hope that one day, medicinal marijuana users who NEED marijuana to cope with unbearable pain and suffering will no longer have to worry about being arrested, simply because of the medicine they require to get through the day.

I hope that one day, those of us with enough rationality to realize the truth about cannabis will no longer have to live in fear of persecution, simply because of the fact that we choose to smoke a harmless joint after a hard days work, rather than pickling ourselves with alcohal. And when I SAY harmless, I mean harmless.

Alcohal has killed thosands and thousands of people throughout its history. How many have Marijuana klled? 0. Zip. Nadda. None. Throughout mankinds entire recorded history, use of marijuana alone has killed no one. I defy anyone to find any sort of research that proves otherwise.

I also have a hope that the beloved Marc Emery will not be forced out of Canada into the USA to face LIFE inprisonment, simply for providing people with the seeds they require to cultivate their medicine.

Where is the logic? There IS no logic in the governments current view on Marijuana, a god given plant. Those of us with enough of an open mind and courage TO see the truth, have to face oppression and unnessesary danger because of it. In a country where free speech is usually encouraged, Marijuana reform seems to be just about the only exception.

My one pleading wish is that before I leave this earth, I see marijuana laws in place here in Canada (and even for our neighbours in the south) that actually represent something resembling logic, instead of arrogence, ignorance, and collective paranoia.

Thank you for your time.
