well im definitelygoing with the dwc method. got a few questions that i cant really find definitive answers to so i'll ask em here and make it a lil easier lol:
1. where can i get rapid rooters?
2. can i do a dwc in a large rubbermaid tub?
2b. how many plants should i do max in one large tub?(size to be determined once i purchase it after knowing if it will work in a different container)
3. how many lights will i need? and wattage?
4. how do you determine what you want/need for lighting times?
5. any words on pruning?(yikes!)
6. how long does it take til determining male/female?
7. how hard is cloning? how long can you clone from one female?
8. whats the best nutrient product?
i'll just use this thread to get my questions answered in the near future too...happy smokes to everyone :smokebong:
I get Rapid Rooters at hydro store. If you don't have one near by, you can get them at hydroempire.com for $12 bag of 50.
I'll let someone else answer dwc questions
What is the size of the grow area? That will determine light requirements.
Lighting is 18on/6off (some do 24/0) for seedling & veg, going to 12/12 for flowering.
Pruning can wait a few weeks
Some strains will show sex preflowers within a few days of topping them which I do at approx. 3 weeks. Otherwise, within a few days to a week or so after switching to 12/12
Cloning isn't too difficult - 90%+ success from the first time I ever tried so anyone can do it.
Everyone has their own idea of the best nutrients. Read the threads - there is an incredible amount of knowledge & shared experience right here at your fingertips...everything you need is all here

Go with General hydroponics for a start on nutes. You will need cal-mag plus for sure.
Stay away from rubbermaid , it degrades in the light.
DWC, 5 gallon bucket. You can get 8 to 10 inch net pot lids that fit the buckets. Plenty of hydrotron rock. A big air pump and lots of air stones.
pretty much all you asked has been answered a 100 times but keep asking.
Say, how many 100 are we going for. LOL

will a 30-60 gal airpump be able to run 8 airstones in 4 5gal buckets efficiently?
how long will the gh flora quart package last? and the gallon package?
what kind of light fixtures are recommended? or what ways can they be rigged up best? and will 4x100w cfl's be good?

You should change the nutrient solution once a week even if your topping it off in between. This thread should help you with your nutrient questions.

I would get a 400 HPS/ MH now. They are cheap. You get what you put into lights. I can get 3/4 pound from 6 plants in a small drip with 1000 HPS. Or double that for a one time shot. I could get more if I had more room and went DWc buckets. Your not going to get much from clf's.
GH 3 part flora gro, micro and bloom.Look at the sponsers. Everyone has it. You will need PH up and down and cal mag plus too.

Yes you need to know if you have hard water or soft type of water. What is your starting PPM of your well water?
There are different types of Micro you can use and using the proper one is important.
CalMag Plus is something also you want to have and use.
Lucky you if you have good clean well water, my city water is almost RO quality. It comes from an old spring in the mountains and comes out of the tap at 76 PPM.
They do have a micro for hard water and that is when your PPM is over 150.
