ive been getting back into spirituality, and i just meditated for a good half hour, the first real breakthrough ive had in a while. at the end of it, i was just left with one thought, that came out of no where: stop doing drugs.
of course, within 10 seconds, my ego rushed back in, trying to compromise with this: "only do psychedelics, take a break for x amount of time, etc."
keep in mind i was in a very hot room, not a lot of oxygen getting in, my breathing had slowed down to the bpm of the music, etc. what do you think?

I'm fond of a quote by Mr. Watts (yeah, I know I quote him a lot) on the subject of drugs:
"Once you get the message, hang up the phone."
Do you feel you've learned all you need to learn from drugs?

ive learned most of it, thats for sure. however, i can still see psychedelics having a lot of value, when used a few times a year. im still 16, and my ego doubts that ill go the rest of my life without smoking pot or drinking ever again. im def. taking a break though, and then ill see where that takes me.

well i learned recently some good advice...if you cannot control how muh you intake and enjoy yourself at the SAME time you might need to take a good look at yourself....think about it, anyone can control there intake and enjoy themselves seperatly but too be able to do it at the same time is impossible for others..enjoy vegas

Some of the stronger psychedelics i've done I see this weird spirit type thing that tells me to stop doing drugs. But I don't think it means weed. Just synthetic drugs, and MAYBE the stronger psychs...If you think it's time to stop take a break, and if you like how you feel then just stop. Toking will always be there if you want it too....

yeah drugs arent that good for U man its a good idea to put them aside......stick to the natural stuff that was meant for humans unless the last thought in ur head was "stop smoking weed" remember alcohol is considered a drug

ditto 100x; i think that's the truth; if it's an ADDICTION then it is controlling you, you don't want that; that's the question

With psychedelics, you have to listen to your body and mind. Everyone from the first time they trip, till you ponder whether it'll be your last, it takes time for someone to realize ""Once you get the message, hang up the phone."
For me, it took many ego losses to understand the message.

Yeah, i think this is possibly god.... a menacing eye looking down on you after you do psychedelics. I've had this feeling, and its unexplainable, but most people describe it the same way.
Seeing god, feeling the presence of him, in everything you see, and touch. The spirit seems to always tell you "why did you take mushrooms? spiritual enlightenment can be achieved in other ways besides this..... they are damaging to the body, but wisdom for the mind"
After an hour these voices, and feelings cease, and you are one with all of your surroundings.

I suggest you go to vegas, party like a fucking nutter and do all the shit you want to.
Then when you return home sit down and meditate like you did before and see if you get good vibes or bad vibes.
If you get bad vibes i suggest you quit, if however you get good vibes it's all systems go.
All the best mate

When doing drugs, I too often find myself questioning whether or not I should continue to use (hell, abuse). Which is why, after today, I plan on doing a month long hiatus from EVERYTHING. I quit smoking (pot and cigarettes), I don't take amphetamines anymore (nor do I think I ever will), I am - at the moment - beginning to trip on my last hit of acid, but after all that, I think I'll let my body go through a period of detoxification. I don't think that doing drugs is necessarily a bad decision, but it is definitely not a life-long decision in my book.

i think it's time to quit when you think it's time to quit...
so the question you need to ask yourself is it time to quit...

I've been off the board sfor awhile, but I love this quote. Perhaps this is a stupid question, but who is Mr. Watts? Please enlighten me. :hippy:

LovetoGrow is right, guys. I had to delete several threads up above because of specific references to substances other than cannabis and issue a couple of warnings through our infraction system. I have no problem with the generic term "psychedelics," but when you get into specifics, that's when the threads get taken down. Find a way to stick to cannabis-only discussion or speak of the others only in non-specific fashion.

why only cannabis..? You know it all goes together in a way. The Beer Cannabis balance opiates, barbitutes.
You began drugs to alter your reality. How do you feel about it now?

Ah damn... four days late. Sorry for the delay in replying to this post.
Not a stupid question at all, as I wasn't very specific. The man I spoke of is Mr. Alan Watts ( http://www.alanwatts.com/ ), the late theologian and interpreter of eastern philosophies, among other things.
He wrote a very interesting essay which delves deeply into his own personal experiences with psychedelics and discusses their relationship to spirituality, called The New Alchemy (http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/lsd/alchemy.htm). I'd recommend it to anyone who uses psychoactives or is interested in using them for spiritual purposes, as well as to anyone who questions the use of psychoactives for such purposes. Very good read.

I believe in a thing called balance. Even water if abused becomes extremely lethal.take it easy on your head feeding. life is long when you're sixteen, well relatively;)
