Coughing lowers my high it seems. I just like taking a big enough hit so my lungs arnt fucked. I would think it would be less of a high since your coughing it all out than holding it in a little longer. But thats just me.

Oxygen Deprivation (Which is what causes a natural cough) which will probably cause a change of air pressure in your head, making it seem you are higher...think about when you stop breathing and you start to get dizzy...if any of you have played the choking game you know this...

burping up smoke removes it from your stomach. to burp you have to increase your intrathoracic pressure (you have to bear down a little, like you're going #2) and that will have a similar effect to coughing.
