View Full Version : Topping right before flowering... bad idea?

I know I know, it's supposed to be done prior to flowering for sure... but the plants look really healthy, no transplant shock at all, growing nice and tall (taller than I want a few of them... not too tall that I will have a problem with my height constraints but I topped one like 4 days ago and already I'm seeing a nice bushing effect and I am curious if I can do it to like three or four more. Does that stress them too much right before flowering? I figured it may not be that bad because a shit ton of the plant growth happens right when you induce flowering so perhaps they would just bush right up?

I know I have read some people say it's a bad idea, but I'm interested in a few more opinions and\or experiences. I also have the feeling I will be wasting a little bit of space with the amount of plants I have so this would fill the canopy a bit in those little areas that will otherwise go unused most likely.

Ugh ya know, I'm gonna go ahead and answer my own question here and decide its not a good idea. I'm somewhat experienced, and I think I will play this one safe and not top any more. I did top one about three or four days ago, should probably keep a close eye on her. I did have the top of a plant snap off last time during flowering and it created a topping effect, no problems at all with her but it may be a gamble a little large to make on this one.
