Gravity Bongs

A few weeks ago my bong died an unfortunate death, so I decided to make a grav bong with the bowl. It gets me higher than anything else I've tried, but the hits hurt like a motherfucker even the day after. Is there any way to make it more manageable without losing the effect? Or should I just buy a vape?

It depends mostly on the construction of your gravity bong. Personally if I were to make one I would use the widest chamber I could find to allow for the water to cool the air around the smoke to make it a bit smoother. A gravity bong obviously doesn't permit the smoke to be cleaned by the water but at least with more cold water under the smoke the air inside the chamber will be cooler and easier to handle. You could also try filling the container of water with ice to get a super cool smoke.

If the bowl had a very long stem going almost to the bottom of the chamber, wouldn't that filter it?

Here's something. Instead of keeping it a GB, try McGuivering it to filter through water first. I don't quite know how to explain this, so I'll attempt to get a pic from my friend later. Use all materials you already have, namely the cut off 2liter.

Basically you put a piece of tubing that runs from the mouth of your 2liter bottle to the bottom. You could use metal tubing, but for a clean hit I'd recommend a long glass downstem. Most headshops carry them.

This will be how to make the top of the line model using your spare bowl. I have faith that your ingenuity will help you imporvise if you dont choose this path.
1) Take the 2liter cap. Create a hole large enough for the downstem to fit firmly inside. You could use a drill, fire, whatever. just get the hole.

2) Put the downstem through the hole and secure it with whatever means possible. you want it airtight, so do what you must. The cap is the majority of the work, once you have it finished you're pretty much done.

I know this is rather vague, but again I'll try to get a pic up in the near future. In the meantime, here's a rough outline of what I'm talking about. If you have questions I'll be sure to answer them.

I recommend you use a ping pong ball to prevent any water suckage, but thats common for any GB. Also, the process for smoking changes slightly. Instead of just freely lifting, you must maintain steady pressure for optimal milking. Just go by feel, you'll feel the water draining out and you'll see the smoke being filtered through the water. It takes awhile to get the hang of it, but you'll never go back.

Well, I recommend you use every opportunity to acquire something new and interesting. If you dont have excuses, you'll never have a reason. Right?
