That is more common than you think!!!

When you overfertilize, it is like overwhelming your plants with fertilizer, like if you go to a concert you can't hear the person next to you talking normally, you know? The soil is just SATURATED with chemicals and the plant can't handle it.

So the first thing to do is to remove the excess chemicals from the soil, whcih is done by flushing. You take an amount of water equivalent to 3 times the volume of the pot, at room temperature, and slowly pour it through the soil so it runs out the bottom of the pot. It can be messy, I do it in the bath tub. If you have a way to measure the pH of the water coming out the pot, do that, and make sure it is pH=6.5-6.8. You can flush with commercial leaching solutions for even better peace of mind, like clearex. But that is not 100% necessary. I use a weak solution of soil syrup to flush if my plants get REALLY scorched, but otherwise just go with plain tap water.

Okay, so you have corrected the BURN part, or toxicity.

Now you want to correct the DEFICENCY, which in your case is a lock-out. That means that the nutrients might have actually been in the soil, but were not available to the plant.

So your next step is to take your normal fertilizer and mix it up WEAK, like 1/4-1/2 strength, and water with that until it, too, runs out the bottom of the pot.

Okay the final step is not to have that problem again. You are obviosuly feeding too aggressively, or with a bad quality nutrient (yuck i hope you aren't using miracle gro) that is prone to forming toxic salts in the soil. Find a fertilizser that has the ingredients listed as 'chelate' if you can... often it will say for example in the section that has micronutes listed, "Fe as Iron Chelate" or "Manganese as Mn EDTA or Mn EGTA". This means that the individual elements are unlikely to combine into a substance that is toxic to your plants if it sits there in the dirt.

I'm feeling long-winded today, but this whole explanation I think I posted something about this shit just like just yesterday somewhere, meh, search around, there's ALL sorts of info, search 'lockout', k?
