mmm, can't you smell the freedom?

maybe we all need chips to monitor our co2 output, so we can each pay our share of that new global tax as well...

talk about tyranny...

Four million families have a Big Brother chip in their wheeliebin UK Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=457314&in_page_id=1770)
Thursday May 24, 2007
Nearly four million families have 'Big Brother' microchips fitted in their bins, it was revealed yesterday. A massive expansion of the 'spies in the bin' technology has taken place by stealth in preparation for a shake-up in rubbish collections.
A survey shows one in seven councils has introduced the chips - affecting 3.7million households.
It was previously thought only around 250,000 families were affected - meaning many homeowners probably have no idea their wheeliebin contains the chip.
The chips have been fitted in a test of the equipment which will send bills according to how full bins are. Ministers claim the controversial tax is intended to encourage recycling.
But the plans have enraged civil liberties campaigners who say it is a further example of the Big Brother state.
The Conservatives used Freedom of Information laws to ask all town halls whether they had fitted the chip technology.
'Bin spies' are already operating or are about to operate in 68 councils.
Councils are spending millions of pounds to buy the bins, truck-weighing equipment and computer software. Lorries will be fitted with technology to read the chips to calculate each household bill.
Many chips are not operational because the rubbish tax has not been introduced - but some trials have taken place to test the equipment.
The Freedom of Information requests also reveal a number of councils have been directly funded by the Government to install the chips.
Tory local government spokesman Eric Pickles said: 'There is already public alarm at Labour's plans to allow council tax inspectors to barge into people's homes and to use "spies in the sky" to increase council tax bills. Now we face the prospect of bin chips quietly being fitted in bins across the country to spy on families without their knowledge.'
The survey shows Blackpool Council - which was Labour-led until earlier this month - has spent £3million on a bin contract, while Crewe and Nantwich in Cheshire has spent £3.5million.
The Local Government Association has backed rubbish taxes, saying families should pay for the amount they throw out to encourage recycling.
Tory environment spokesman Peter Ainsworth said Conservatives wanted to promote recycling but 'higher stealth taxes' were not the answer.
'It must be made easier for people to voluntarily go green,' he said.

They're bins with wheels and flip lids that we have in the UK. The wheels make them a lot easier to move when full, and also easier to steal.

All taxes are shit taxes. It seems almost everything you do in this country nowadays involves some kind of tax.
I buy food, and I pay VAT. I go to work, and I pay income tax and National Insurance. I do my best to recycle and minimize landfill usage, and they they threaten to raise the already ridiculous council tax if everyone else doesn't do the same. I sit down to watch crappy television that's paid for by adverts and subscribed to by me, yet they still expect me to pay for a television license to line the pockets of the BBC. Everytime we fill up our car, we're paying HUGE amounts of fuel duty. If I want to have a drink, I'm paying shitloads of tax to the government for that too.

Can you tell I'm in a bad mood today?

Smell the freedom? I'd rather not smell trash. Tyranny? The evil empire trying to get a grip on waste and recycling.

LOL.....is this actually about the chip for trash or just the normal hate for anything that a western government does?

Ya know, John Deere puts chips on all the components to make combines/tractors etc.... The numbers are set up into the computors so inventory on the shelf is already marked for a date and time for assembly. Robotics pick the pieces out of the bins when the number is called. Is the evil empire taking away the freedom for human error stalling production OR are these chips still there in order to count how many ears of corn are harvested later on by the farmer...........THE TYRANNY of it all!

There ARE some things where people just need to get a grip.

Have a good one!:s4:

Or why hasn't prisonplanet removed one of these from a trash bin and taken some pictures of it? And in other news government officials are now bugging all your ham sandwiches.

DO NOT REMOVE CHIP! This is a ploy by the government HOPING that you'll do just that. In reality these chips are looking for human hosts to link to and transmit your information directly to homeland security!

Look what happened to Yoda when he removed the chip.

Well I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but everyone of us has hundreds if not thousands of chips in our house.

Radio-frequency identification - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RFID)

Do a Google search of this. Aaaaaa the possibilities of enslavement.

Shouldn't be too long before the cops pick up a receiver and drive buy your house and see that you have 2, 1000 watt hps grow lights inside. Also wait till the thieves get a hold of a receiver! Jackpot!

The link I gave has outdated information.

The chips are smaller now and can be active and passive. They can also be turned on remotely.

Inventory control is so fun!

Big brother is watching- Smile for the cameras!

All I am saying is what is the point of worrying about a few chips in a wheelie bin when their are thousands of chips everywhere.

Also you worked for them in the 90's. It is 2007 it has been a long time since you worked for the enemy.

Are they paying you to say this?

:D:D:D:D

Just having fun Psycho.
