New Mexico - New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson officially entered the 2008 presidential race Monday.

"I am running for president because these times call for a leader with a proven track record, and a demonstrated ability to bring people together to tackle our problems at home and abroad," Richardson said, making his announcement in Los Angeles.

"I am that person, not because I say so, but because of what I have done, and what I can do for the American people."

Have a good one!:s4:I don't think he is smart enough to be President, although he claims he would stop the war immediately, that is a plus, He would decriminalize pot, not high on my list but a good sign he might liberalize some of the crap Bush has put on us. I'm still rooting for a split ticket, Ron Paul and Mike Gravel!

P4B does it give you some kind of satisfaction to say you support the "winner"?
I believe it is important to support the best candidate regardless of their chance of winning.

LOL...if that were the case that would make me a Democrat considering the last election. That surely isnt the case! Personally I like Duncan Hunter out of all the people right now but his best chance in all actuallity is a V.P. position at best. I guess there is a lil' underdog in all of us.

On another note, (as I am not very knowledgable in American politics) how important really is the V.P. position? From an outsiders view I have heard they are figureheads to help balance out a ticket, and I have also heard they run the show, pull the strings. Do you know for sure?

A V.P. is only as powerful as the President allows. I recall watching a special on JFK and ol' L. Johnson was basically held out of the loop. JFK would rather confide in his brother than Johnson.

They come from the same party and in all actuallity are the second in command of all military forces. When all is well, no war, they are pretty much just a step ahead of the first lady. The V.P. is also the head of Senate. Here's a good link on the issue:
U.S. Senate: Art & History Home > People > Officers & Staff > Vice President of the United States (President of the Senate) (http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/Vice_President.htm)

VP should be for whoever comes in 2nd or atleast be a voted in position, but anyways.. Richardson has been my pick for quite sometime now. He just signed into NM law medical marijuana! You would think on a stoner forum he would get more support. But to say "another person without a chance" is just plain retarded, atleast this man has an energy policy that doesn't involve throwing more oil on the fire. Go look at Romney's energy plan.. It involves drilling for more oil off our coastline.. Giuliani lists no energy plan on his web site.. Mccain also has no energy plan, but atleast he admits Ethanol is not saving us any energy and is not a "greener" fuel. The one with the better energy plan would fair much better on any "war on terror" then one who plans to use all military force. As long as we need what they have it will never go away.

Well, in the case of Dick Cheney, I believe he is the power behind the presidency. Most Veeps are behind the scenes with some bullshit agendas, but Cheney is on point with every Bush agenda, like he sits behind him and scowls at him hoping he don't fuck up the speech him and Carl Rove put together. Dick is an evil-evil Man!
