I used to like their music back in the days of Freaky Styley, but these days they are just boring A.O.R. has beens who should probably just retire in their beach house in CA, spending the rest of their days smoking weed through large expensive vaporisers, hanging out with chicks (and guys I suppose because half of them are gay), and surfing.

Amen, couldntave said it better myself.
some of their old shit is too funk for me, some of their new shit is too pop for me, but all together i do love RHCP. my favorite song of theirs has to be soul to squeeze, then under the bridge, and i could have lied. they've been banging out hits for years though. and i think snow is a really good song too.

Yeah the chilis are cool. Your right about the jamming though. I love to watch the live performances to hear them jamming at the end of the songs. Usually flea doing some arpeggios from the main chord structure in the song and john improvising on the scales. Flea can improvise on scales to as we all shoud know :).
I think I actually like the jams more than there songs because they sound so fresh. However the jamming wouldnt sound as good if the melodic structure of the song wasnt already in place.

Cool, glad you found them. They are one of my faves, too. I love the Blood Sugar album the best. Good memories and they got the funk, baby. Power of Equality...Righteous and the Wicked... Sir Psycho...
Uplift Mofo Party Plan- I think that might be the best album name, ever.
One Hot Minute - My Friends is a beautiful song and that song Pea- I love how its all sweet and innocent, stripped down sounding and then he starts cursing bout he's a pacifist but he will fuck yer shit up. I dunno, it gets me giggly.
how bout that funky video for Otherside?
Scar Tissue, Californication
I haven't gotten Stadium Arcadium yet, but eventually.
Enjoy them :)

wow, the red hot chilli peppers you say? never heard of them, do they play them on the radio at all? Seriously though, I give them a 9/10 on the energy scale, 5/10 on the talent scale and 7/10 on the orginality scale. Good band, but way overplayed. All their stuff after blood sugar was mediocre. I did like By The Way though...

That's just the cocky attitude of some of thier lyrics... They're all really quite humble, I've met both Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante, both are VERY down to earth and real cool guys.
I friggin love the chili peppers, not as familliar with thier stuff pre-Fruciante when Hilal Slovak was thier guitarist but I have aevery album from Mother's Milk on... they're just a lot of fun to listen to and they're all damn talented.

I saw them back when they were starting out , they played a place called Groenoordhal in Leiden, Holland.
They lifted the roof off the place , that night put them in my top ten live acts . I've been a fan of lots of thier stuff and nothing beats the ability to really rock a crowd. :D
one hot minute was my favorite album they did. weird as its one of their least popular. blood sugar sex magik was cool too. anyway, good band, dont know why they are so insanely popular as there is far better out there but what the hell they deserve their success more than most who get it. oh and frusciante is good, but far from a guitar god as rolling stone would have us believe.
