I took my daughter to see it today (sans buzz, but in a really good giggly girl mood) and we laughed all the way through it. The first one was the best imo, but this one was def worth seeing.
I loved the little flying donklets and lol'd when the gingerbread man pooped a gumdrop.

i saw this movie last night and i realized a lot of shit in that movie there is no way kids could understand...
like when puss was all i havnt had a trip like that since.....
it was legit tho, and i saw it with this very pretty gurl so it worked out for me..
I enjoyed it. I like all the shrek movies. Puss in boots is my favorite character.
I was only one of a few people in the theature who laughed at the joke when after merlin did his magic to send the main characters back to far far away land the donkey said, " I havn't had a trip like that since college". I guess the little kids and parents that were there didn't get it.

I saw it this weekend and I thought it was really cute. I could have done without the kid behind me kicking my chair though

I'm with Matt and Samwhore. Horrible. The studios really could have spared us this one. But they didn't care, they knew they could have just as easily filmed an hour and a half of blank footage, slapped the title "Shrek 3" on it, and everyone and their dog would have trampled over old ladies to see it. Well, can't blame the producers, I mean, they need money to buy weed themselves.
I laughed only twice during it. It was also way too short, at least too short to really make us feel that Shrek and Arthur had bonded that much after only about twenty minutes of shared screen time together.
How are you going to tell me that it was as good as, or up there with, the first two? The first two, especially the first one, had fresh, original jokes in it. So did the second one, although it lagged a bit with some contrived pop culture stabs, but it was still okay.
This third one has got no jokes of its own, and makes no effort whatsoever. Its only formula seems to be to transport as many pop culture elements into this fairy tale world as possible, and somehow we're supposed to be impressed by that just because we can "relate" to it. It got to the point where I just thought, enough already, I thought this was supposed to be a fairy tale world, why are you going to such extreme lengths to make it look as much like the modern world as possible?
Finally, the pop culture references are not even funny, especially when they are the only form of "comedy" present throughout the whole movie. They have no jokes or punchlines behind them, just the reference by itself is supposed to make us roar. Some stoners smoking weed at a high school in a fairy tale world. Okay... and then what? I could have come up with that myself, Hollywood.
Overall, an embarrassing effort, and I'm very pleased that it got duly panned by critics across the board.
