canna plant food

im using canna a and b plant food , that s go n well ,im in my 4th week of flowering , the bloke at the hydro shop told me i could put this other stuff in the water , 2 thicken them up and get a better yeild , i didn t catch the name of it , has any 1 used sumthing like that b 4 , is it worth, im using a resivour system, many thanx

was it maybe molasses?
they're supposed to be good during flower to fatten buds up
