Buy a roll-on and use it in front of her then ask her 'Want some?'

Get her some scented soaps, deodorant, etc. Walmart has little bath sets already made up for under $10. You just will have to add the deodorant. Just tell her that you "forgot" to get her a Welcome Gift and so you got this on the spur of the moment!:D- Granny:hippy:

Drop hints LOL.

The only smells i have to deal with at work is diesel and oil - and i've got plenty of it over me now. I smell like an engine lol. My overalls are meant to be blue - but the majority of them is black with oil, white and light blue with paint and darker blue from the diesel.

:D

You could try leaving her an anonymous note, I suppose.

I used to work with a guy who had the worst breath in the world. It truly smelled like an animal crawled into his mouth and died. You could smell it in the general area surrounding his office, too. And he was a guy who talked all the time, which made it worse. The strangest thing was his dad was a dentist. We always wondered why his family didn't try and help him. He was one of those people who needed to use a tongue brush and strong anti-bacterial mouthwash in addition to brushing his teeth.

We went to meetings and offered everyone at the table breath-freshening gum as the meetings started, which he usually turned down. Someone once left an anonymous tin of Altoids on his desk. When the ladies had to talk to him, we'd cover our noses with a handkerchief or tissue that had a drop of cologne on it. Finally one of our bosses had to tell him there was a problem. If it's disruptive to the workplace, a manager can do that. Everyone was hesitant to go into client meetings with the guy because he was so offensive. I guess the talk with our manager embarrassed him because he took another job not long after that. It was truly repulsive.

What's the smell of your colleague? Body odor like she doesn't use deodorant? Or just like she doesn't bathe or wash her clothes? When someone has an odor problem, that's not a good sign. Think about talking to your boss. There are ways to handle that situation diplomatically, but if it's disrupting your work and affecting others, she needs to know.

this brings to mind something i saw on tv once, i can't remember where tho... i think it was the local news

anyways, some people (a very low percent) have a disorder in which it causes them to smell bad no matter what they do.... on the show it showed these women, one smelled like burning rubber, another fish, and i think there was a third but i can't remember...

anyways, these women took multiple baths a day, used large ammounts of deodorant and perfume, changed their diet, freebrezed themselves often, anything at all to try and make the smell go away and stay away, but it always came back, and not hours later either...

Plug your nose with something so you dont have to smell her..

Yeah, I have seen shows about that condition, too. It's called trimethylaminuria, and it's an inherited (genetically driven) condition. Gross! Apparently dietary changes can help in some cases. I feel sorry for people who have it. Kenn, does your colleague smell like fish?

Put a peg on you nose. HAHAHAHA. That shit almost killed me right there..

I know exactly what I would do...wherever I have worked, they have always made me the guy to tell someone whats up...and I gladly do it, because it is a service where both parties benefit..
You politely take her to the side, make sure there is no audience..an office is best and ask her if she takes a shower before work....if she says no, you tell her that she needs to take one, because you can smell her bosy odor and it is not so good. If she says she does take a shower, which I doubt, just say, are you using soap? if so, I think you need to see a doctor cause you are stinking. After all of that, you tell her, you only took her to the side because you like her...and friends are always truthful to each other:)
and everything that was said goes to the grave with you..a little hug, dont breathe...and all is well.

That sucks. I've been in these situations unfortunately. The most recent one was when I was at my Honors Convocation for college and I sat next to a kid that didn't smell so pleasant. I didn't care about it personally because thats dumb shit to me, but I didn't want to get blamed for smelling bad which I didn't. But problems usually work themselves out with time, but if it is that big of a problem and other people complain, than that is a work disturbance and she could face discipline. They would probably just make her go take a bath or something.

Does she seem scummy...or does she just not take a bath or something? Sometimes they just can't help it. I went to high school with a VERY VERY smart kid, but he just smelled so bad and he got made fun of in high school so much. It was hard. I usually kept it to myself, but you can only take so much. He claimed it was an intestine problem.

Ya know, back in the Middle Ages....EVERYBODY STANK!!!! lol. We're all one big smelly happy family!

Surely this girl must know she reeks of a vegetarians fart. Just bring up a conversation that happens to be about baths and showers. Hopefully she will get the message quick time.

What you wanna say is

"Look here, staight up, you smell of shit. Mind taking a bath coz i cant take this no more! It's making me gag, seriously, i get so sick, and it pisses me off so much. Obviously i'm trying to hold it in but soon it's going to piss me off so much i'll start beating small kids about the head with a shoe, so on a basic level, it's for the kids. Really, you smell bad."

^^ ITS FOR THE CHILDREN!!

We have a few kids like that in my program at school.

Usually if we bitch enough to one of the teachers or a counsler, they'll pull 'em aside and explain that they need to bathe, brush their teeth and wash their clothes.

BUT usually it's not just them being lazy..most of the time they're depressed or something is going on at home..so be sensitive.

other then that, just walk in and go "God damn, something stinks in here"
and smell your shirt, and maybe she'll smell herself and get a clue?

I think those stinky people cant smell their stink anymore. Kinda like we cant smell our smoke too much anymore. B/c we have dirty neighbors like that, we named them "The Mullets" and they are wicked disguisting!

My dad used to have a can of air freshner in his shop, and when he got a smelly person in he'd spray around them - really patronizing but no one ever said anything. I used to love working with him. I got free stuff - he was a jewler.

well then tell a manager and tell them it's disrupting yours and others ability to work at top efficiency....

if it is from dirtiness, that's not exactly sanitary either.. maybe even posing a health risk (there was a local resturant recently, one of the servers didn't wash his hands after he shit, and he was hepatitis positive, it left a huge scare, i think someone even ended up getting it, but luckily if taken soon enough, vaccines can reverse it/kill it... which they had the vaccine center open in the resturants parking lot... lol

Not always....

This reminds me of a case in the local courts a year or so ago. I live in an area with a huge Indian (from India) population and, at the risk of being incredibly non-pc, they stink. Serioulsy, I'm not rascist or anything but get on a bus full of Indian sw engineers heading down to the Apple building and you'll know what I mean.

Anyhow, this Indian family sued an apartment complex because they didn't get their deposit back. They claimed it was racism because the apartment manager told them straight up that, because they were Indian, the apartment stunk and he had to spend a lot of money to get the stink out. He said he had to do that with all the Indian families. In the end the apartment owner won, the judge saying that if he had to spend money to get rid of the smell the family had to pay for it. Guess they should have bathed before going to court that day.

eww....

ever watched the old old yeller? lol the water they used to drink... shit i'd rather die (unless of course i grew up like that, but if i were to be shot back in time, i don't think i'd touch the shit... it made mexico's water seem spotless.... mexico's water in mexico's ghetto pumped through rusting steel pipes... o.0)

as for fucking a whore.... FUCK THAT... it'd be like working with dead bodies... YOU'D NEVER get that smell off you..

Check with your workforce or labour agency, Kenn. You and your fellow employees should be able to address this subject within the boundaries of British labour law through your boss. Frankly, if she smells like feces, she's a health hazard. If she doesn't wipe herself properly, chances are she doesn't wash her hands properly, either, and that's putting everyone she works with at risk, frankly. Talk to your boss. British labour laws, like American ones, protect people from sexual and cultural harrassment but don't require employees to endure bad hygiene situations that put everyone in the workforce at potential health risk. Watch and see that you're not touching items after she touches them--or that you wash very thoroughly after you do. E coli, fecal coliform, or staphylococcal bacterial contamination are not good things.

Just stick around...you'll get used to it. Anyway I am sure it only bothers when you leave the place and comeback. Not all of us are privileged to endure 8+ hours of pungent BO wafting off someone else! It could be a learning experience...or a fatal one? Is your nose up to the test? Personally I think body odor is arousing. It is a strong smell that pleases me. Don't get me wrong. Many other aromas please me, like Irish Spring bar-soap. Give her some soap is my advice. It will be nice way of letting her know...

Oh, heck, I should have been more attentive to your little flag symbol, Kenn. I always see the Union Jack part of the Aussie flag and automatically think of Great Britain. Australian labour laws ought to be protective of the health of you workers, too. Good luck! It's a very touchy subject, to be sure.

If all else fails, punch a few holes in a plastic bag and fill it with orange peel. Hang it around your neck (under your shirt or something) and give it a shake whenever the stench gets too bad.

I do know what you mean. I've travelled on the London tube a few times which can sometimes be cram packed with Indians!

I started dating a guy and after about 3 dates noticed that he smelled really bad.... like he rolled around in an onion patch. Thought it maybe was a fluke thing...It wasn't. I don't like to hurt anyones feelings, but he would try to hug me and I could only hold my breath for so long. I stopped dating him after the 3 dates.

You could always walk in the office with the look like something smells and lift up your own arms and smell them as if to be checking to be sure it isn't you and then say "Man something smells like BO really bad... do you smell that too?"

:)
