Ok i am going to give hydro a shot

i have 1 18 gal rubbermain bucket
4 -5 inch net pots
one air pump for a 20 gal tank
2 air stones n i am going to line the perimeter of the bucket with perforated hoes which i am going to pick up from a local hydro shop

heres a pic with the air stones in place should this be enough bubbles?(i took the middle one out for the tube)

Looks good. But one thing with rubber maid systems are they are hard to drain unless you make a drain plug. Thats what I use rubber maid and I didn't have a drain plug what a pain in the ass. You can always pump the water out to but a drain plug is the way to go. Just what Ive learned. Good luck.

Drill a hole in it and put in a drain plug from stealthhydro.com. I'd order 2 in case the seal breaks and you need a backup (I screwed mine up being too rough draining once).

Get a cheapy cheap transfer pump from a hardware store. One that can handle chewing up bits of debree. Should be under 50 bucks. You'll need two lengths of garden hose. This way you wont have to move anything.

Or even this should work I think.
Water Pressure Mighty Suction Device - Pump from FAMOUS PLUMBING SUPPLY (http://www.plumbingsupply.com/mightymightpump.html)
