Hey everyone whats up? I have always been a Catholic and lately idk im just confused. I'm not sure if I would believe in god... mostly because of things that happen in the world. I had a very spiritual experience when I shroomed and it makes me think more about nature and the mind and how everyone and everything is connected. I do believe in a moral code, but I think that is solely of mankind. No animal feels guilt(that we can tell). Though I try to be as good as I can and never wrong anyone, but thats not because I think god will punish me if I dont, but because I believe we should be good to each other. Im a 17 irish/scottish male born and living in the US if that would make any difference. Could anyone give me some names of some religions/beliefs that might suit me? Thanks a ton.

why try to fit someone else's dogma into your life when you are quite capable of developing your own code. if you need to, you can study what has gone before, but don't limit yourself to what someone else wants to cram down your throat. study it all and choose what feels right to you or choose nothing at all. there are no short cuts if it is to be meaningful.

I have a feeling you would like Unitarian Universalism. Here you go, it's pretty cool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unitarian_Universalism

Or you could just not have a religion at all. Alas, I would argue that no "moral code" exists, just thinking about it reminds me of when I read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, which was a very lackluster argument in the case of a god. But we're not here to debate that, are we?
If you are willing enough to take advice from some random asshole on a pothead forum, I suggest that you take shrooms again and create your own religion. See how that works out for you.

Wrong.
He said he wants a moral code and wants to better humanity. Satanism is all about yourself.

karma (i believe it's tied into buddahism but idon't believe in that.. i just believe in karma.... do to others as you'd have them to do to you.... do good (out of the kindness of your heart) and it will come back, do bad, and it will come back to bite you in the ass, sometimes (and often) 3 fold....
needless to say i live by my conscience.... if it seems wrong to me, i'm not gonna do it... if it seems to be the right thing to do (even if someone else doesn't agree) i will do it....
btw animals do feel guilt.. look at a dog, he shits on the floor, you can call his name in a certain tone and he knows he fucked up.. that's guilt.... if they ddin't show guilt, they wouldn't come wlaking towards you with those eyes... they'd come running up happy and giddy as usual.... they know when they done wrong, and they have the body language to match. you're just never gonna see a dog commit suicide cuz he killed an innocent cat... lol...

yeah i agree about the guilt i wasnt thinking about that. I was just thinking like if a shark killed a seal he doesnt care is like what i meant. And i do believe in karma as well and i showed today. This kid on my lacrosse team was giving me shit(he has before) but i just let it go because it wasnt worth it and in the game he F'ed up his knee and maybe tore his ACL.
