In a fit of anger, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre requested a trade nearly two weeks ago, a source close to the quarterback confirmed. The trade request was initially reported by FOXsports.com.

In addition, Favre expressed his frustration over the teamâ??s failure to acquire former Pro Bowl wide receiver Randy Moss after Favre said he had agreed to restructure his deal to accommodate Moss.

Although the Packers have reportedly told Favre that they have no intention of dealing him, the revelation of the trade request and his public comments about the failed effort to get Moss, could make for an interesting time when the Packers hold a mini-camp next weekend.

Even more, Favreâ??s remarks could put pressure on Packers general manager Ted Thompson, who has been coy over the past two years about his desire to have Favre come back or retire.

Two weeks ago, Thompson talked about the franchise's emphasis on character when targeting players â?? perceived as an indirect explanation for Green Bay not finalizing a deal for Moss. However, Thompson is the same executive who last season signed wide receiver Koren Robinson after Robinson committed a DUI while under contract with the Minnesota Vikings. It was a relapse of previous drinking problems for Robinson.

As for Favre, who led Green Bay to a Super Bowl title during the 1996 season and guided the Packers to another championship berth a season later, he said his focus is only on one objective.

"I just want to win; maybe I see things the wrong way," Favre told reporters in Mississippi over the weekend. "I don't want to ruffle any feathers and I want people to respect me. Sometimes I think it's hard for them to let Brett go. They might think that we pay him a lot of money, but he still gives us the best chance to win. I've never been told that, but there are times when I wonder if I'm the odd man out here and they just don't know how to tell me."

I think this dude sees the end of the career coming and is having a hard time accepting it.

If he wants a trade, give it to him for a Herschel Walker style deal:
the Cowboys traded his rights to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a total of five players (LB Jesse Solomon, DB Issiac Holt, RB Darrin Nelson, LB David Howard, DE Alex Stewart) and six draft picks (which led to Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, Kevin Smith, and Darren Woodson).

Have a good one!

The Pats made GREAT improvements but you know.....a season is just an injury or two away from being a bust. Bill Belichick is the man.........proven over and over again.

I don't see the Packers doing shit this year but if they can get something good out of whats left of Favre........go for it!

Have a good one!

Aaron Rodgers is going to be an unrestricted free-agent before he ever sees a snap!

Pats did make some nice moves in the off season. Glad the Bucs don't play them this year

i cant stand favre, and have posted this before...gawd.....i wish they would let him go, serves him right...the nfl complains and complains about my man TO, but while he is all smiles and professional in minicamp right now, favre has taken his place and is out there in the media embarassing himself and his team...maybe if he is so upset, he should lead by example already...it isnt everyone elses fault you cant play anymore favre, and should have retired and gotten out when the getting was good, and not been greedy and be trying to break all of marinos records.....

as for the pats, yeah, they look like a force to contend with, and i think everyone knew they would be after last season...

now...my dallas 'boys...ho hum......they look good in minicamp right now, and i think we will have a great season...they have been working TO with romo a lot, and if you remember they brought in new coaching for romo..i think you guys are gonna be surprised with their abilities....sometimes it isnt about the players as much as the coaches, and jj really made a smart move in fixing that.....all hail the cowboys!!!! :D

i am dying for season to start...this is always the hardest time of the year, the waiting for it to begin.....

I know lol, I don't want the summer to go fast or anything, but this season is going to be a good one. With all the trades and moves on basically every team, it should be quite interesting. It's a hard one to predict, you just don't know what moves are going to step up, and which draft picks will step up...my curiousity and anxiousness is already peaking haha.

no kidding...i agree totally.....i have to say that this years draft pics were the most surprising to see....i am still pissed miami didnt go with quinn...i really think they need to do something...the nfl should fire them, no offense to a friend of mine i went to school with who is on the team...ugh.....

do you think they will let jemarcus russell or okoye play this season? i am most excited about them, calvin johnson, and levi brown....i wonder how much play they will get...i watched the combine, and these guys are wicked...cant wait to see these gridiron boys dance...

I'm pretty sure JaMarcus will either start the season off or definitely play most of it...maybe like a Vince Young situation. I think it would be good for everyone out in Oakland...a fresh new face of the franschise to get fans and the team excited and give some sort of hope. Personally I think he'll be a pretty good QB, at least have a decent season...too bad no Moss .

Okoye will give the Texans another D-lineman to help, I think he might start right away...they're probably still kicking themselves over Mario lol.

And Detriot goes with yet another first round wide-out...we'll see how that works out...do they even have a QB lol?

Some picks I just shake my head at. Like you said...Miami and a few other teams could of used Quinn, but they let him go...should be interesting to see what becomes of that.

But yeah...you know someone on the Fins?

I liked the Browns aggressive move to get who they wanted. A team like the Browns needs to take those kind of chances

1 thing is for sure the falcons are screwed.
Watch out for the Bengals: Carson Palmer, Rudi Johnson, and Chad Johnson. we should do good this year if bengals players dont keep getting arrested.
I love football and cant to watch it on sundays

joey harrington is prob gonna do better then vick would have. vick has a nasty problem with not beinga team leader. harrington can and will take the helm. but as for this season? i belive we'll have a playoff shot if we perform at our best. But can anyone really beat Peyton in the playoffs after hes tasted the Limbardi trophy?

As a die hard Packers fan I can say that Favre still has it. He just needs a team behind him. I mean the man is good but he can't win a game alone. The team with its 20+ rookies last season is just too young to be a contender right now. Give em a few years. ;-)

Go Surrey's-Go Surrey's Go! Cowboys all the way! Mini camp airs on the 30th if you want to get a sneak peak that the 'boys. And TO has been under the radar recently. Things are looking up for us this year. And as long as remain dedicated to our teams, they'll always look up.

Well i was born in Chicago so I was surrounded by Bears fans including my dad til i moved to Wisconsin 20 years ago. I started liking the packers but I still like the bears too. I know that doesn't seem possible but its true. Now Minnesota Vikings are the team i hate. Seems like every year there is some new drama for those guys.

The class of the AFC this year is New England and San Diego. I'm a Dolphins fan but Merriman is a maniac and Brady and Tomlinson are the men.

This year the NFC is the junior league again. Bears have made improvement on offense through the draft but Rex Grossman is just too inconsistent. Philly and Dalls still have some weaknesses and New Orleans has issues on defense, especially the secondary. Forget about the NFC West, they don't play defense. No one else in the NFC is close.

Sorry P4B, but the last thing I want to see is Marino's all time TD record broken by Favre. It sits on a nice number too, 420.
