why dont you check out e-bay under grow lamps you can pick up some good lights there id recommend getting a mh bulb and ballast for veg try get a conversion ballast so that you can use a hps bulb for flowering either way you could use the same bulb all the way through get yourself a good timer some decent soil ph around 6.5-7 some perlite a bottle of superthrive (e-bay) im using bio-grow nutrients they are decent enough get a fan to keep the air circulating ,you cold use mylar as a reflective background in your grow space painting it white is good enough though and get some DECENT SEEDS very important and the best of luck to you my scotish friend:thumbsup:

Thanks for the info my Irish friend!!! Great info but the problem is that my cuboard is very small. The sizes, are 5ft 6" height, 2ft deep and 1ft 8" width. Ive been reccommended to use CFL's due to heat being a big problem with a cuboard that size. I've sorted out the ventilation side of it. I am puttin 2 vents at top and bottom of the door and going to get PC fan for the bottom 2 pull in fresh air. Not to sure about using a PC fan for the top vent to push out the hot air or would the desk top fan that i will also be using be as good to push out the hot air out the top vent??? sorry bout asking all this but would rather be told by someone who knows their stuff!!! :stoned:

With only 1ft 8" width youll have a problem when it comes to flowering.I think your best option is an envirolite (which is basically a big cfl used for growing).Get a blue spectrum one for veg growing and red spectrum one for flowering.I used to use them years ago and had very good results,They give off very little heat,most head shops have them and ebay is full of them.

Been looking at PH+Moisture tester at B&Q and saw the soil that i woz recomended to get. Where will i get pearlite and how much would i stick in a 24l bag and finally where can i get boi-gradeable soap from and wot does it look at. you should be able to get some in your local hardware store (perlite) mix up 1 part perlite to 3 parts soil dont know about the soap what do you want that for?

I'd have to agree with above comments we have used B&Q general purpose compost and Perlite for our mother plants but we use hydroponics to grow envirolites are very good in confined small spaces although we tend to use ours as supplamental lighting dangling down amongst the plants to get extra light to the bottom folliage but be aware they will burn leaves they touch.

Cheers again when i woz reading the Indoor Bible By Jorge Cervantes and it recomened you should use Liquid biodegradable soap to clean your grow cupboard with before you start any growing, Dont no where to get it from. What do you gays use to clean your walls with? And wheres the best place to buy CFLs, the DIY store or a proper grow shop. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Having just purchased a whole bunch of cfl I found that WalMart, Home Depot and Lowe's have the best prices and availability on the following:
6,400K (vegging) up to 26 watt;
3,100K (Flower) up to 40 watt.
(Those Kelvin values are just off the top of my head. They may be off by a few hundred K's.)
To get higher wattage in the specific spectrum I wanted, I had to look online and check at the grow shop. I found a full spectrum (vegging) 125 watt for US$50 at a local grow shop. But that was the one and only decent type of cfl they had. If I want any other wattage or spectrum I would go online and order them.
Hope this helps!

trouble with cfl here in the uk is,they have no kelvin rating on them,at least not the ones you buy from supermarket,and they tend to come in 2 wattages,11watt and 20 watt so you need a lot to get decent light from them,with the envirolite it'd be 1 light 1 fitting 1 cable etc
heh,the orange buckets they sell in b&q for about a quid each,make great pots with some holes drilled in and tops cut off,they can be easily shaped to fit your space

Been on the GlasGrow website and could not get any products or prices up in the menu bar. But anyway been recomended to go and have a look, does anyone no if glasgrow sell CFLs with reflectors. Cheers again everyone.
