Well here is an age-old question. Is there a god? Personally i dont believe there is. I think back in the dark ages people needed something to look up to and someone to pray to, for others some1 to blame these bad things on. I think man invented god and not the other way around. All of my family believes in god but they also believe that their son is able to make his own judgements and i tell them i dont believe in god. My dad thinks i eventually will see that there is a god or greater power in the world. I also just dont see how we can still think that there is a god when so much of physical law and scientific theory can controdict with what god says in his "bible" / "torah". Well i guess i just wanted to see what other people think, what do yall think?

to explain that a bit. if they could explain where a big burst of energy (electricity mayb) came from. They could explain life. See when you take 2 atoms and accelerate them at each other, when they hit. Do you know what is left? Absolutely nothing. It works in reverse too. If you take 2 elements that can be combined and create that burst of energy they will bond and then when u get those electrons spinnin right u can create some forms of life...after that u just let evolution take its course. im not sure if im right on this cuz im really stoned but when im straight i can tell u. Well I don't believe in god in the sense that their is an actual being or sentient from of life that has ultimate powers, nor do I believe that piece of literature we call the bible, though it is a good story it ISN'T and shouldn't be a religion PERIOD. It should be a guide to help people in making decsions and forming moral standpoints but should under NO circumstances be taken literally (damn evangelists)


Anyways if you think about the universe I think that it IS limited and only so big. But whats outside of it you ask? NOTHING there is nothing. outside of the universe imho nothing exists. The human brain cannot comprehend what nothing is because it is, in itself, something. So out in this non-existance may be forces which (are non-existant, meaning we can't percieve them) have resulted in the creation of existance (our universe)

I believe in God I believe he made us to live a life we chose and all the choices we make in life affects others and have consequences in this life or the next. I have had a few chance encounters with Faith and thats why I believe in God. I do not attend church or even read a bible, but I do think there needs to be a middle man in faith. Think about this... the Earth is so perfect for life, the right temperatures, water, Jupiter protects us from comets and meteor which would otherwise destroy the Earth, our atmosphere protects us from meteors, our magnetic field protects us from solar wind... that's a lot of really good luck.

You can't use stuff like Noah's ark to disprove God's existence... firstly humans wrote that, not God, secondly, just about the whole Old Testament is metaphorical.

Think about how complex and perfect DNA and life is... how can a lump of matter actually think simply using chemical reactions and electricity?

You talk how the earth iis so perfect for life, etc.. How it couldn't possibly be by chance, but rather an intelligent design. Earth is a planet that revolves around a star (sun, obviously). Do you realize how many BILLIONS of stars are in our galaxy alone? Or in the countless billions of other galaxies that house billions of their own stars? I'm sure that at least one planetary body in that equation would be fit for lifeforms. edit :: and scientists/cosmologists use this to infer that there is, without a doubt, millions of other lifeforms (aliens if you will) out there.

The universe in infinite. Here's a quote from a book I have which would, I assume, detail the latest in knowledge of said subject.

Yeah I didn't think about that when I typed it. For me personally, I know there is a god. I have experienced too much spiritual and paranormal things to even doubt that there is a higher being. :)
