Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani forcefully reaffirmed his support for abortion rights on Friday and argued that his divergence from conservatives on the issue should not disqualify him from being the eventual GOP nominee.

"This is a matter of deep and profound judgment," he said in a speech at Houston Baptist University. "It's a matter of morals. It's a matter of your interpretation of how laws should operate, your interpretation of how respect for the rights of others should operate. But in a country like ours ... I believe you have to respect their viewpoint and give them a level of choice. I would grant women the right to make that choice."

When I read this the first thing that come to mind is the thread in here on why we hate Hillary. This dude is thinking outside the partys agenda and holding his ground. If nothing else you have to respect that.........

Have a good one!:s4:

Wow, if i was registered I might vote for him, all these people trippin about abortion. ITS NOT YOUR KID. ITS NOT YOUR LIFE. ITS NOT YOUR CHOICE! Its the choice of the mother and/or father. Not some fucking people dancing around waving signs about killing babies.

Taking this stance for Giuliani means the guy just signed his death warrant as a candidate. They did a piece about this on the national news last night and also on PBS news. He won't be able to get his party's nomination with this stance, most likely. Even though there are plenty of pro-choice Repubs, the ones who win have all had to alter their views on this issue to win.
