Oh my God, Ive never liked beer in all my life. Until I tried something called Brahma, from Brazil. Its so smooth, pretty strong for a beer (4.8%) and its... well... just bloody delicious. I urge everyone to try this, and its dirt cheap too. £2 for 4 bottles at local supermarket!
What beers do you like? :)

I'm a real ale man. Red MacGregor, hand crafted in the Orkney islands is my current fave.

Isn't that though to disguise the poor taste of American beer though. I've tried the miller and bud light over there, it really has to be drunk cold. I did like the beck's dark though, don't know why but I've only ever seen it sold in America.

4.8% strong? :p 5% in Canada is consideredf weak beer.
I no longer drink, but I used to drink Budweiser, which is a filling, heavy beer I find. Lighter beer was Miller Draft, nice and smooth. Heneiken of course. Corona on occasion, but I found I couldn't drink a lot of them. It started tasting kind of skunky after a few.

LOL@ wife beater. :D That really is dangerous stuff that stella. I heard it contains unusually high levels of arsenic, which is why its often blamed for aggressive behaviour. Arsenic is said to be a possible cause of many psychotic reactions.

American beer isn't all bad. I think Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is one of the best macrobrews (I guess by now it doesn't cut it as a microbrew) out there.

Natty Ice and Corona all the way...

Is that the indian cobra? If so it's lovely - i got through 16 of the big bottles after a curry all on my own - but the downside was i was going to the bog for a piss every 10 minutes.
If it's the stuff i tihnk it is it's REALLY nice.

people love ragging on american beer. first of all, there are better beers than miller or bud light. all you europeans seem to forget that those are two beers brewed in massive amounts, bigger than id say any other two beers in the world, to serve app 200 million adults. so please stop comparing them to fucking euro micro brews and the most popular beer in a country of 10-50 million people. do you see where that might maybe just be a tad unfair. we have good beer here. it isnt miller lite and bud light though. and more to your point, id rather drink the shittiest beer in the world cold than the best warm. warm beer is so nasty. warm and carbonated just dont go together, the sooner ever realizes as much the better the world will be.

Aren't king cobras cheaper than busch? at least in my area they are... Since I'm a college student I prefer quantity over quality, so Busch Light it is. :rastasmoke:

I go to school at Chico State (where sierra nevada is brewed) and they have got so many delicious beers that you can only get here locally and/or by keg. there best is blonde ale, even non-beer drinkers enjoy it.

^That's not very nice of you recomending such shitty tasting beer.
lol. it's like Natural Ice
I love beer. Heineken, Corona, Modelo, Aguilar.
I try every quality beer I com across.
I haven't liked Guiness the last couple times.
Budweiser is ok.
I'll try some of the ones mentioned here. But from the "beer conversation" i've had-the u.s sells low% beer.
like for example the "presidente" i get in the u.s is like 5.9 or something but in DR it's 6.5+ i think...
i dunno... beers great tho.. just makes you fat

Miller Genuine Draft(with some lime)
Guinness
Boulevard Wheat Beer(fucking amazing)
I like all different kinds of beers. As long as its not budweiser(terrible taste) or bush(worst beer shits), I'll probably drink it. Bud is for smoking, Miller is for drinking.

Another beer that isn't bad is this new Michelob with Lime. I don't really like Michelob normally, but it's not bad with lime, and I like how they market to lazy people like me and prebottle it with lime already.
Amberbock is one of the better American beers. Try it if you haven't.

Personally, and slightly definition-wise, I'd categorize Cobra's/OE/Steelie's as malt liquor rather than call it 'beer'. I definitely don't put it in the same light as Bud or Corona or Miller, etc...maybe Cobra's could be 'beer defined' as they are one of the least alcohol contents of the malt's, but something like Steelie's should be labeled malt liquor.
Either way, ML/CL/BL/Heineken/Corona/Bud/SA all sit well with me as far as beers.

When I wanna drink to get wasted, I'll buy 2 40's of Steel Reserve (8.1%), st ides (8.1%) or Colt 45 (really good and 7%).
For taste and to get a little drunk, I'll have a few coors lights...coors light is SO GOOD..jeez.
Coronas and heineken's are good too.
Stellar
05-16-2007, 12:44 AM
strong for a beer to me is about 9.5-10% I've had homebrew that's been over 26%, too.
If you can ever get your hands on it, and like ales at all, try golden monkey, brewed by Victory, a small PA brewery. Kinda yeasty, but a nice taste and a lot of vitamin E as I understand yeast tends to contain? Its gonna rack you close to 50 bucks a case if you ever even find it outside of PA, but, i find it incredible.
That shit gets me loopy after 5 and I'm a half-a-case a night kinda guy.
