Moldy or Normal?

This stuff is hard and crispy, not at all soft, burns very very slowly, has brown bits on it like a caramel coating appearance.... Is it moldy? gone bad?

And the key question of course is:

Can I still smoke it?

If it is mold DO NOT smoke it - you can become VERY VERY ill from smoking or eating any mold.

You may not be able to smoke it but have you thought of using a butane honey maker and makeing some oil from it? Since you are extracting the thc directly and leaving behind everything else you should be able to salvage something at least and not totally waste it.

Thanks for the help ppl. Unfortunately I already smoked a bit of it last night along with softer normal stuff that came with it. Now I've ran out of all non-moldy stuff and I think I'm gonna try and quit - since I get more anxious than high these days. I've got to try to anchor this moldy stuff in my mind with all weed to make me more allowing of the sensible reasons not to smoke anyway haha. :) :( :) :mad: :rasta:

Yea, with the first pics I couldn't really tell (after all, the non-moldy parts don't look too bad, they have some crystals), but with the second ones, yea, that looks like mold. I'm no biology major but that isn't normal and it looks kinda fuzzy-ish.

That's too bad man. But if I had to take a guess that would either be A) the most colorful fruity strain I have ever seen or B) Mold. Mold (it is actually called that or Bud Rot) colors CAN be deceiving on a moldy bud, but don't be fooled. Bud Rot will usually be a dark purple-ish color, but it can and does vary. If your tree does in fact have bud rot then you will usually see white "webs" within the bud (rip it open to see, it's unmistakable) as well as the color/s. If it does have rot, like EVERYONE else said, GET RID OF IT! It can get you sick! For a more experienced user, one can tell by the smell. Good luck with your buds man, and slap your dude in the face. Just curious, though. Did you perhaps look at it before you bought it? For instance, it's not very good to buy weed without looking at it and inspecting it at least a bit. If I was buying some, and I saw buds that looked smooth like that, like there was a coating of some nasty shit around it, I would definitely turn it down. That hardly even looks like weed! Even schwag looks better than that.

True, but I don't think the look of this weed resembles shitty growing skills in any way (not to say that it wasn't grown in a shitty way, but it's more noticeable that it's obviously contaminated in some way). It definitely is contaminated, either from mold, or some external chemical, from what I see. Also, if prohibition were ended, great quality weed would be much more accessible for everyone.
