yes, speaking of which, how is the world as a whole going to deal with overpopulation. I'll bet its been a many years before the population as a whole has gone down or even leveled off.

What would suck a whole lot more would be being born into Afghanistan. Or the Sudan. Or North Korea. I always want to tell people who feel like our country is out to get them or own them to spend some time traveling so they can see how different things are in other places.

Some places are already over populated. Japan for instance. Go google photos of Japanese subways.
Yikes, f'real, scary.
But I had to fly somewhere last week and every time I get on a plane I look down and am just FLOORED by the suburban sprawl... we have so much space to spread out in... had, that is... maybe it doesn't feel like we are tripping over each other all the time but there are SO MANY of us and looking at places that used to be farmland in very recent years, and all they are popping up is developments and strip malls... it scares the shit outta me. Where the fuck is our food supposed to come from? We are making housing for more PEOPLE and reducing the available space upon which to grow our food...

our population is rising like an exponential curve, it';s aint gonna stop until an "Earth/Global Disaster" wipes out about 50 million people or more.

Never been on a Japanese subway but I have been on a Chinese one. Pretty scary. I got packed into a Chinese train one time for an hour and half trip back to Shanghai. It was the middle of summer and it was about 90 degrees outside, warmer in the train. Fortunately, even if you were to pass out from the heat, you wouldn't fall down. You'd just stay packed in, like a cigarette in an unopened pack.
My wife was born and raised in China and the first time she came to the U.S. she was 27. We live in San Jose, CA, the 9th largest city in the country with over a million people. One of her first comments when she got here was was "where is everybody?"

Kinda sad huh? It's a crazy concept. What's crazier is that we all willingly give the government the power to own us.

Japan is having really bad population decline problems right now. Not enough people are having babies its going to create some huge problems for them as the current population ages. You might be thinking of China, India, or Indonesia. Those are the countries with the highest populations.

what do you mean it already happened? Yes its killed people, but we never found a cure. It spreads so fast that anyone you come in contact with after you are infected becomes infected. Once you have it its pretty much a death sentence. Read the book. Its really good.
Do you think you're mixing it up with e coli? Theres never been a human ebola outbreak in the US

When we're born we're born into a system... The united states owns us as a person.
Kinda sad huh?
The United States does not own us as a person.
Yes, there is a certain amount of control that it has and that control is getting more and more powerful. However they do not own us.
The answers to this problem:
Passport. Only 20% of the US population has a passport. If you cant leave the country, yes you are stuck.
Money. With money you can open offshore bank accounts and even buy residency in another country.
Non Attachment. If you have a emotional attachment to being able to shop at Wal Mart and eat at McDonalds, you are already a slave to consumerism.
Individuality. If you are happy staying where you are and doing the same things that you always have done then you are owned. You have to want more.
Balls. It takes major balls to leave the illusion of security that the USA gives.
Try going to a place where they don't speak English, where you know no one.
LazySmoking420: I am sorry you had to deal with all the shit that you created.
However just go through the motions to get out of the system. Then if you don't like it create a battle plan to escape the trap.
You can do it if you want to.

That's what people say who haven't traveled enough. Which was Birdie's point. In case you're unaware, the system here is a hell of a lot better than the one in the Sudan and North Korea or Afghanistan. If you can find a place without a system, at least you're free to go live there. The people in those others aren't.

Our system states that Marijuana is a: Schedule 1 controlled substance.
Schedule 1 means highly dangerous and addictive.

Heh, you say Japan is overpopulated? Take a look at China. Now that's overcrowded...
But yes, it is sad that we're all born into a system, one filled with greed, racism, and overall ignorance. When I say this, I am speaking directly about the U.S. It's just too bad that at this point in time, when technology is growing, and there is growth in population, that we as a people (holistically) cannot grow together, not only spiritually, but in peace. Hopefully some day we will achieve what needs to be done, and I'm not only speaking of the issues involving the legal status of Cannabis.

Looks like we have something in common rebgirl, I've always been interested in diseases too. Things like the origin of disease and why disease would exist in the first place. We try to fight it but when all is said and done we can't. As soon as we come up with some miracle cure, Mother Nature comes up with some bigger and badder disease. Nature has it's own way of handling population control. Just look at STD's. A whole group of diseases that are specifically designed by nature to cut down those who breed too much. God help us if we ever find a cure for AIDS. I don't want to think about what will replace it.

So what do you want? A society with no laws? No system? Total anarchy? That's all fine and dandy until someone breaks into your house and rapes your mother, sister, wife, etc, then decides to fuck you in the ass too just for kicks. Why'd they do it? Why not, they wanted too and there's nothing saying they can't do it. And before you start saying something like "I'd pop a cap in his ass" just remember this: there is always someone who is bigger and badder than you are. ALWAYS!
Sure, a lot of laws are unfair and just plain stupid but they exists, the "system" exists, because it is needed. It is a set of guidelines that help us all get along. And we(humans) are not alone. You want to see a system? Look at a wolf pack, a pride of lines, even many insects. You think "the system" sucks for you? Be glad you're not an ant, unless you're the queen that is. Then you'dhave no choice whatsoever. Your role in "the system" would be determined before you were a pupa. The only escape then would come from a hungry bird or the bottom of a shoe.
