my 360 crapped out on me

apparantly i have what is referred to as a uh, i forgot some fancy words for messed up disc drive. i think terminal disc drive error or something.

sucks! i bought 13 months of xbox live and i cant even use it.

disc drive error more than likely... and i dunno if this spans to 360, but friends who were into xbox used to have to fix these all the time, all they did was open it up, put a level on the disc drive and adjust the screws so that the drive was completely level. could help, never know.... if you gotta mail it to microsoft and pay for it, can't hurt to open it up... you are after all paying for the repairs.. the voided warranty only applies (atleast on ps2) when it's been opened... i'd imagine xbox's have the same weird ass void tape to tell w hen it's been opened (does'nt mater what you do, peel that peice of tape or break it and anyone can tell)

you mean opened from the box? or do you mean like opened the actual xbox to fix it myself?

i thought i read last night that theyd repair it if you paid for it, and i was wondering whats up with the warranty, this xbox isnt even a year old.

as for the rest of your post, you were the one that said in the other thread "they'll repair it for your ofcourse at your own expense" so i figured you knew what you were tlaking about lol....


but a lot of 360s have been crashing out that ive read of. mine just did too, the disc drive is fucked up somehow. microsoft repairs it..but to your own expense of course.

You get a year warrenty on it and theyll do anything. Even replace the whole thing if its truely broke. It can just take a month or two (the downside)

if it is still under warranty, Microsoft will re[air. This happened to my fried. Onyl 8 months later it crapped out again and now its out of warranty. So we went to the store and purchased one and replaced the good with the bad and returned the broken one.

my ps2 stopped reading cds and made buzzing noises as it tried so sony just replaced it like came in a weeks time tookm my ps2 and gave me a new one.
