Every stoner Ive ever known has loved reggae music ,my friends and I whenever we have a party the bob marley disks come out. everyone knows at least 1 Bob Marley song, his music moved people all over the world and his death was a great loss to the world. I love Bob Marley and his music and this thread is dedicated to him . just for the people who dont know how Bob died I borrowed a few sentances from Bob Marley .com so you know the truth cause there is a lot of rumors that are not true..Dont forget to roll a joint for Bob on may 11 .Peace:thumbsup::rastasmoke: :rastasmoke: :rastasmoke: Three years earlier, in London, Bob hurt a toe while playing football. The wound had become cancerous and was belatedly treated in Miami, yet it continued to fester. By 1980 the cancer, in its most virulent form, had begun to spread through Marley's body.

He fought the disease for eight months, taking treatment at the clinic of Dr. Joseph Issels in Bavaria. Issels' treatment was controversial and non-toxic and, for a time anyway, Bob's condition seemed to stabilise. Eventually, however, the battle proved too much. At the start of May Bob Marley left Germany for his Jamaican home, a journey he did not complete. He died in a Miami hospital on Monday May 11, 1981.

I think everyone know even more than one song.
A GREAT man, who had many positive messages to the world and presented in a manner that will never be duplicated.

I'm gonna smoke more this friday than I did on 420. In my opinion Bob was the most important person of our time. He was like a prophet, and his music brought all kinds of different people together. Who knows the great things he could have accomplished were he still alive today.

You can get cancer from hurting your toe?

Anyway R.I.P. Bob, I'm more into techno or prog rock than reggae, but you can't beat a bit of chilled out ska.

I'll smoke a J for da man and think about peace and love to all mankind or something, if I got any left by friday!

If you spend too much time in the sun, yes.

But seriously is that true? He ended up with brain and lung cancer because he hurt his toe playing footie?

Just never heard that kind of thing, I know bacteria and viruses can trigger cancer though.

I just wondered before I use that as a counter argument against potential advocates of the theory that cannabis is an evil carcinogen.

me: Cannabis doesn't cause cancer, its a highly complex issue actually.
Someone else: Aye but Bob Marely died of lung cancer!
me again: Ahhhhh! But that is because he hurt his toe...

I really love the African vibe, I had the pleasure of being exposed to some really chilled out reggae from Africa recently. Saw a great ska reggae band once too. I find Marley a little too commercial by constrast

Right enough about the toe thing! I asked my parents today and apparently a distant uncle I never knew died after an injury he sustained to his leg playing cricket turned cancerous.

I'll be toking up one up in memery of the man later, once my slight hangover starts to wear off.
