I'm thinking about getting the Korg X50 61-Key Synthesizer, but i'm very open to your ideas.

Is anybody here experienced in that area that could give me suggestions on what i should get?

It looks pretty good.

Are you tryin to get started making beats or are you looking to get into more of the just keyboard playing?

I will always recommend a microKorg... decent first synth and it even has a pretty good vocoder built-in (although you will probably need to use an external mic if you really want to make tracks with it.)

I am all about the classic analogs so I don't think you can go wrong tracking down a Jupiter 8 or Juno 6, etc.... and of course stuff like the Yamaha DX-7... but of course it all depends on what sort of music you want to make, and some of the vintage gear can get pricey and might only be part of the puzzle. A Roland SH-201 is supposed to be a pretty good beginner's synth, from what I've heard.
