Volcano not getting me high... help!

Hi. After tons of reading every past post on this forum i bought a volcano. Started using it this morning (with good grade bud) packing about .3 per go in the chamber... i tried started on 5.5 and everything up in increments of 0.5... .3 only seems to get me like 2 week bags... very thin vapor... through my bong 0.3 of this stuff in succession would get me ripped! am i doing something wrong... i mean the manual isn't that hard to follow, and I've searched like 100 posts on here for tips... if anything this is a painful experience using this thing... inhaling so much air... blah im out of breath...
i was so excited to get this thing... i smoke everyday so i wanted to save my lungs... making me unhappy...

YO! I just got a volcano a couple days ago....I have smoked out of the for a year or so tho...I usually start on 6. and of course u wait till the control light goes off...and it is vapors which are supposed to be a thin layer...and do u grind your bud nice and fine? and do u put enough to at least cover the bottom of the bowl? just keep vaping and vaping...I'd say three bags should do u well......how big did u make your bag?

hi thanks for the quick response... the bag actually came on it already (even though it was brand new... it seems fairly large so i usually only fill it half way... ive tried putting anywhere from .2 to .5 in the chamber... i just finished a big bag on 6.0 with a fresh chamber.... not much to brag about... i feel like im doing something wrong compared to what ive been reading i should be getting...oh and yes im grinding it nice and fine... is it normal for the orange light to go back on when its vaping into a bag? normally i inhale the most vapor at the end of a bag... is that cause the bag is too big thus filling too much air?

i must be doing something wrong though... for me to have put as much of my good stuff through this thing and not be in a coma let alone feel high... i feel like im just baking my pot and making it brown for no reason...ugh someone who knows how to make this thing work well help

friend of mine got a volcano a few weeks ago and we all have been getting high as balls off of it. not sure what you are doing wrong. maybe make sure it is ground up nice and fine.

try filling the bags to the max instead of going halfway or whatever.

psychedellics... can you explain the process / steps you guys use... i thought this thing was pretty much foolproof... how big is your friends bag... settings etc..? thanks

im no expert on this subject and i read a lot of topics on this forum to get a feel for the volcano... this is how we use it:

grind up some reefer and fill the bowl to a few millimeters deep. not sure how much in weight if i had to guess it would probably be like .3 ish give or take ..

turn it to 5.5 or 6 and wait for the light to go out... put the "bowl" on there and hit the air switch letting it run for a few seconds to "preheat" it like i read to do then attach the bag.

fill it up to almost max... but not like its going to pop or something and kill the air then hit it...

im not sure of the exact size of the bag but i think it has to be about a gallon maybe more. we fill 8-10 bags with the same weed taking it out and regrinding it at bag 5. and turning the heat up to about 6.5

im not sure if you really get anything out of those last 4 or five bags but i think we do.

i would like to hear more about people experiences.

sounds like your just a smoker. i never had a real problem with my vape, it got me really baked, but the vapor is defintly not as satisfying as thick smoke is. duuno why yours isnt even getting you high though.. mine was made out of a lightbulb, soda cap, and a pen though.

well taste isn't what gets you high.... if you have bud with low thc content, it's of course going to take more then KB would...

hence why I said tastewise...but even if it's low grade...I've smoked .5 low grade and got ripped off of it....maybe my low grade isn't as low as I think then

how big are your bags... im using the one that came on it and it seems rather large to fill all the way and do a few bags in a row... thats alot of air.. with no results for me.. im blowing little bits of vapor though... but very thin...

The temperature setting is perfect when a fine, white mist is seen to rise. Vapor which is barely visible indicates that either the temperature is too low or the material vaporized is totally exploited.

i normally smoke 1 g a day max... today i put 4 g through the volcano of good bud and feel like it was wasted... either this thing is greatly overhyped or im using it wrong somehow...

oh and this may sound stupid but... whats the little round silver thing it comes with? it only came with one and its about the same size as the air filters.

Well, you must be doing something wrong. Ive been using my Volcano for a few weeks now and it gets me high off pretty small amounts. This is what I do. First I turn heat on and then turn the knob to 6. Then While its pre heating I use my scale to get exactly .3 and I grind it very fine in my grinder and I make a small pile of grinded bud (.3) and I redo those steps over again until I have about 3 to 4 piles of grinded up bud and .3 in each pile. Ok Now the control light flicks off and now this means its done pre heating. ( keep in mind the bag should be 24 inches and should be a lil smaller than 24 inches after you attach the bag to the valve or whatever.) Then I use some playing cards to scoop up 1 pile of .3 and I load it into the bowl and then I put the metal thingy in the bowl and I push it down until it just settles nicley on the top of the bud but not to tight. Then I put the bowl on the volcano and I hit the air button... and then I let air flow thru the bowl for 3 seconds... ( like couint to 3... 1.....2......3..) and then after the 3 seconds you attach ballon to the bowl and let it fill up all the way.... then shut off the air when its down filling and grab the bowl and set it on the table and un attach the ballon and attach the ballon to the mouth piece and inhale the bag and hold each hit in for about 5 seconds and blow out slowly. Then next stir around the bud inside the bowl and then put the metal thingy back in the bowl and then set it on top of the Volcano and push air and let it set 3 seconds and then fill bag... and blah blah and inhale bag... blah blah and then after you inhale the second bag... take you bud out of the bowl and grind it 1 last time and put it back in the bowl and then the metal thingy and then vaporize it again... and after that put the vape poo in a plastic bag for disposal and then load anbother bowl with another fresh .3.. anyways I hoped I helped and I hoped I made sence because I did not look back for any errors lol... anyways have any more problems ill try to help.. ( p.s haha I still dont know what the purpose of that silver round thingy yet lol... I just have it sitting around here some where but hey my volcano works with out it so whatever lol//)

yea i'm a volcano owner...and you put that inside of the bowl chamber thingie pushing the rod in the middle down compressing the bud and it also keeps it from shooting out everywhere...here's a pic of the piece and what the bowl is supposed to look like...

Try it with a different source of smoke. The first time my woman used the volcano was in Amsterdam with some Sour Diesel. She couldn't walk after about five bags.

One key thing is that the volcano gives me a way different high. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet. Its a very subtle high. When you smoke a volcano its hard to tell your high (for me). I usually just get really good body highs... and my mind thinks very fast. Volcano highs only last 3 hours max for me. But yeah it doesn't get me SUPER high ever any more. I think it affects different people differently, cuz some of my friends love my volcano to death, but I like it only cuz it doesnt fuck me up (so I can sleep or just chill out and do stuff later in the day) and saves me tons of weed.

I don't think your doing anything wrong. Make sure your volcano isnt leaking smoke...

I have found that different weed produced very different results in the Volcano.

just put in a teaspoon put the temp on 5.5 and hit that shit 3-5 bags. (oh yeah and make sure you fill the bag all the way up, you can tell its full cause smoke comes out of the release vents so the bag doesent pop)

and youll be gone my buddy came over yesterday i made him try the volcano for his first time he took 2 bags and he hadnt smoked in a week and he said he was way too high to take the third bag i offered him. :hippy: :rastasmoke:

Crank the fucking bitch up to 10. I always roll on 10, only way to do it. Anything from 4-6 isn't fun to smoke, there's like no vapors in the bag at all. It just makes me feel like I'm not going to get high.

your wasting it! putting it on ten just burns off all the vapor at once

you cant properly dose yourself like that if you put it on 5.5 take a few bags judge how high you are then stop you can use whats left another day and so on untill its up to 9 and theres nothing left in it.

i fill up the thing put it on do a few bags at 5.5 when the vapor gets really thin and im too high i stop then the next day i put it on 6 and take a few more bags till the vapors thin move it up to 6.5 take another one or 2 feel high enough and stop then the next day...... well you get the picture this is off the same teaspoon worth of weed and i can get high off that 3 or 4 times using the volcano at what its good at. conserving weed :bigsmoke:

maybe theres just a defect in your volcano, maybe you could go back to the place you bought it and like listen i bought this volcano from you and i think there is something wrong with it can i exchange it for a new one... or contact storz & bickel and be like your vaporizer came broken
