i am a chronic lyme disease patient, i'm a CA resident and i have extensive records from my doc.

i made an appt with:
Dr. Denney, Dr Sullivan & Dr. Michael Gitter, 22691 Lambert St, Lake Forest, Orange County (949) 855-8845

off the canorml website

they're saying the initial appt. is $200, and renewel's are $100? is this standard? it seems high but they are the only docs near me from the canorml website

suggestions? i'll bring my driver's license and med records of course, but i'd like to know what to expect

also, if you know of any other options in orange county, CA, let me know; i could drive farther if i needed to, but i'd rather not, and these fellows seem ok.

could use any advice; i'm in quite a bit of pain and finding a lyme specialist down here is becoming increasingly hard ( i just moved here), so i wanted to do this asap; my one concern is that my last documented phone consult with my specialist was several months ago

lastly, if i should get the refferrel; would you reccommend a co-op in the area?

Well, Drs. Denny and Sullivan are sweeties! (Haven't met the other doc.) Dr. Denny looks enough like my hubby to be his brother- lol. Since you have real medical problems, it is very easy! You will sit in the office for a bit- just like any other doc- and be ushered into a exam room. BP will be taken and a quicky physical. You'll get a short lecture and asked if you have any questions, which they will answer. If you think you will need a large amount of cannabis per week, say so, since it is the doctor, not the state, who sets the amount. I'm on record at 3/4 of an ounce per week, while the hubby is allowed one ounce per week. (No way we would use that amount, but it is a nice cushion.)

I don't know about the co-ops- I just grow my own and stay one plant under the 12 mature plants we are allowed. Our locals have been busting "over-enthusiastic" medical growers. The state card is NOT necessary, and I don't trust the state not to turn over my records to the feds (even if I am a "dead end" user). Co-ops and clubs want you to have the card, but is it worth the risk? Get a vaporizer. If you decide to grow, treat it like it was still illegal. Visit treatingyourself.com some day- it's a good medical cannabis site. Hope it goes well with you- Granny:hippy:

There's a doc in Whittier, Daniel Cham, that charges $150 for the initial visit. 888-420-2546.

My sister went to Dr. Sullivan and she really liked him.

Hi everyone!

I am new to this site and just started researching the possibility of medical MJ. I live in the SF Bay Area and have NO idea where to start. Does anyone know anything about what doctor's prescribe Marinol? And what ailments would qualify a person...would migraines, nausea caused by stress, and rough monthlies qualify? I would LOVE any and all information that anyone has. I actually need to pass a test for a new job I'm about to get...and I'm debating on whether to accept the position if it will impede my :rasta: lifestyle.

Thank you all! This site is a great resource and I appreciate any and all information!

Hugs!!
Jelly

Jelly, honey, go to NORML's site- they have a list of MMJ friendly doctors. You should have no trouble getting a recommendation- mine is for migraines and other assorted minor "old age" problems. Forget the Marinol, except as an excuse as to why you tested positive on a UA test. Marinol is not as good as the natural herb when it comes to symptom relief. Do a little research on it, and you'll see what I mean. Anyway, get legal and grow your own! It's such a lovely hobby- very rewarding in several ways. - Granny:hippy:
