ok, here's the question: ideally, if you're going to be using X amount of wattage total, how much would you put in your flowering room and how much in veg?

50/50

75 flower / 25% veg?

in my case, i'll be using a 250w hps for flowering, so i'm trying to figure out what might be right for vegging, what would make sense?

the question is basically this: where is power more valuable? in vegging or in flowering? and if i guess right that it's more valuable in flowering, how much more?

also consider that you will have a veg room and a flowering room, and you take new clones every time you flower, with normal inside strains (flowering two months, and thus clones vegging two months), so that's two months of veg for the clones

and here's the last question: under the same amount of light in the veg room, would it be better to veg clones for two months, OR: have in your veg room: mothers, clones that are a couple months old, and then clones that are new, so that you'd be flowering at 4months old? remember, under the same amount of light so: would it be better to have 4month old clones that got less light because you have more of them, or 2month old clones that had more light for those 2months?

anyway, in my situation, it's like this

250w will be used for flowering, probably 2-3 plants at a time
can't have more than 12 plants as is med grow

-how much wattage to use for vegging?
-veg clones for 2months and have: 3 moms and 3 clones in veg room, OR: veg clones for 4months and have 3 moms and 6 clones in veg room

:) yes, i know i'm being confusing, but not sure how to be more clear about it ;)

since i am new to this this is only info i grabbed somewhere else, it does take less light for vegative than for flowering, you dont need the 40 or 50 watts per sq ft like flowering, since you wont be changing the light schedual in either box you could have new and older clones next to each other. same in the flowerbox. switch them out and get a continual harvest. it would be good to have a couple of extra clones if something happens to one of them. 3 moms seems like overkill if you are only growing out 3 plants, unless you were to sell the extra clones you would get, or give them away.just my opinion though. older , bigger clones would produce more faster as you put them into flower.

It seems that 4 months is an awful long time for clones. They will get too big. I vegged my clones under 4- 40w flouros for about 30 days and they were about 1 1/2 feet tall. I also run the lights 24/7 which alot of people disagree with but it works for me. After putting them under the 1000w hps they stretched quite a bit to where I have to LST to keep from burning from the light. When I first bought the 1000 hps I thought it was way overkill, but as the plants got bigger I was very happy I went with the "big gun"
