Best death metal bands evar? Definitely. Especially Vital Remains. They are like a more epic and melodic version of Deicide. Worth checking out if your into death metal.

ha-ha my sister runs a metal promotion company and they had deicide and vital remains last year on easter. It was badass.
What were the vital remains albums before Dechristianize like though? Oh and those two albums deicide released in the early 00's I heard were horrible and too groovy/hardcore tough-guy styled.

Vital Remains is indeed epic... I have the Dechristianize album, very brutal and melodic.

Before Dechristianize was a less epic sounding sound, but is still INCREDIBLY good. In my opinion though, Icons of Evil and Dechristianize are the 2 best CD's. I'm gonna download all the Deicide CD's soon though. All I have is Legion and Once Upon the Cross.

Also try Morbid Angel if you have not already, they are a pretty good DM band considering they were one of the earliest in the scene.

Glen Benton is a dumbass.

Stay away from Insineratehymn. It's basically Pantera with a death metal influence (too many slow groove parts and the lyrics are bad even for deicide standards.) and stay away from in torment in hell. Horrible production and too rushed songwriting (even more repetitive then Insineratehymn).

I love Morbid Angel. Don't have many songs by them, but they are still very good. I was going to download Insineratehymn, just to check it out but I've heard really bad things about it. I'll download a song from it just to check it out.
And Bodom, whats wrong with Benton?

i have the scars of the crucifix that came with the dvd. watch it sometime.
plus the whole im gunna commit suicide blah blah blah just like christ blah blah blah.
the hoffman brothers made deicide to me, not glen. i use to think glen was cool and all but no hes just a southern hick that likes to shock. no merit

Oh. I torrented the CD's so I wouldn't have the DVD. But yeah, that is kind of annoying. His voice is about as amazing as Nergal from Behemoth though.

it is kind of fun to listen how his voice changed from each cd.
on the dvd he asked how he keeps his voice and he goes, "Jack Daniels, ciggarettes, and soooot, soooot marijuana." (like he was hitting a joint)
but they go on about how weed is great and should be smoked everyday. the hoffman brothers are badass. but then they show the drummer at the shooting range with all his guns. glens talks about religion and pulls the tail off of a lizard. hoffman bros. tell about how they skipped school to get fucked up and just play music.
kind of entertaining.

I knew glen had to be a toker. In fact I did know that for a fact. See deicide/vital remains spent the night last year at my sisters since she always houses the bands that play her shows.
Well I happened to be there and glen was smoking a few joints with my bro in law lol. And I did try it at the time but didn't get high. My first real time getting high and the first time i consider that i smoke was on december 29th. Santolla got pissed at the stuff in my sister's house though since he's christian (he kinda irked me.)

on wikipedia it says Chuck Schuldiner from death was an advocate of both medicinal and recreational marijuana use. don't know what merit wiki has though. metal and marijuana go hand in hand.

I know a lot of metalheads seem to hate weed and almost support pigs and say "those losers/druggies got what they deserved" when they arrest metal bands/people from bands who use weed. Sickens me to no end. They say alcohol is what real metalheads drink. Plus they hate weed cause they hate hippies.
Wow, they're legal so they must be better for ya then weed!

Metalheads in my generation seem to support either, they actually just want to get "fucked up" whatever it may take.
Its the 60 year old biker metalheads that are assholes.

To this date the only metalheads I have met that are assholes are the ones who hate pot. But none the less, metalheads are a band of brothers

Most of the "elite" metalheads seem to loathe pot. That doesn't bug me so much actually. But when they cheer pigs on in arresting "druggies" that pisses me off.

all the metalheads i know do about every drug they can get their hands on. I'm pretty much a lone metalhead. Don't care enough about anyone else, i just do what i want.
I think i have a superiority complex to most people so with a narcissistic view you don't notice that much about other people unless i get pissed.
If your wearing the jesus is a cunt shirt i might say hi otherwise i could care less.

I'm not much of a Dimmu fan, although I don't mind listening to it.
Behemoth should have a new album out soon, I'm really looking forward to that.

Behemoth's new album is going to be the best this year imo. Right next to Icons of Evil. The new Dimmu CD is good, Hellhammer is a FANTASTIC drummer. The sound is really generic though. I'd give it 7/10. Icons of Evil is like 9.5/10 though, holy shit
