We have a serious problem in this country with police... Pricks like this should be delt with BEFORE they get the chance to inflict pain and despair on the peaceful public...

That's some crazy stuff there. Not all cops are like that, but an increasing amount of them I think are getting frustrated with the work they do. Can you blame them? The abuse they put up with, some getting racial attacks towards them. A person can only take so much before they snap, and the ones who actually repel the abuse, are a rare find these days.
Not that this story had any abuse towards the cop, but I'm just saying. It's not cool to take out having a bad day on someone. Find a new line of work asshole. I'm glad he got suspended though.

peaceful public...
"Stabins first stopped Langston after clocking her driving 63 mph in a 35-mph zone near University Community Hospital in November."
A good cop would have put her in cuffs then and there. The lady was freaking; She should have her license revoked for 30 days.
But the way the cop handled her tho, def uncalled for. He should have to pay for emotional damages. lol

A car stereo is ont the same thing; in Florida, once you go 15mph over the speed limit, your license is/can be revoked for 30days upon being ticketed; it is a common practice to keep joy riders off the streets.
shes a lady...and second she's really not posing no threat to no one....she was in distress over her father....
One, your sex shouldn't be a reason to be let off easy. She was hauling near twice the speed limit in a hospital zone ("near University Community Hospital") after driving off while detained.. When the cop went back to his cruiser to write the ticket, she drove off. ("Stabins returned to his car to write a ticket, but after several minutes, she drove into the hospital parking lot. After a short pursuit...")
The cop was an ass and should be suspended for longer/face charges, etc. I agree, The lady however, was a danger to society by what she did.

Well she did act harsh on her part too. 63 in a 35? Here we woulda got a reckless driving. And believe me ive gotton one and its a big fuckin deal.
Yea her dad was in need but she shouldnt of drove off like that thats just asking for it.
Now if she had her dad in HER car at THAT time. Then thats a different story.

i didnt say that she should get off cuz of the fact shes a broad...but its not like shes in their throwing sticks at him.....are resisting.....i agree that her driving fast was a bit excessive....but so was the cops reaction
she shouldn't have driven away. Thats like inviting asshole cops to spew their asshole bullshit all over you.
if she would have stayed calm I don't think it would have been as big a deal.

I heard about it when it first happened, but this is the first I heard of his punishment.
5 day's without pay isn't exactly enough for him abusing his power like that. Hopefully she sues.

It was both their faults. But since everyone now-a-days hates cops then of course people are gonna jump all over the pig.
Don't get me wrong though, I think he fucked up more. He basically forced her to be stupid and take off.
But because her father was having a heart-attack, does that give her the right to speed? No, definitely not. Understandable that she would, I would too, but I'd still expect repercussions, but if your dads having a heart attack a speeding ticket would be the last of your worries.
The cop could have handled it much better, like he had been trained to. He could have offered to mail her ticket, escort her to the hospital, etc.
I'd say he used excessive force though because the fucking woman was sobbing about her father, she wasn't a threat at all, she never threatened him and he slammed her against the car pretty easily.
Anyway, both are at fault, but I think since the cop's job is "to serve and protect" and he had been TRAINED to handle situations like this then it should be on his head.
Thats what they said on TV too.

Stay calm? Could you stay calm if your father was potentially dying at that very moment?
I know I wouldn't stay calm. Put yourself in their shoes. Yes, she was breaking the law, but like I said, there are times to be flexible, and this was one of those times. I saw the video from the dashcam from the cop car. That cop yanked her out of her car, slammed her against her car, put cuffs on her, and said, "well now you won't see your father as you're getting arrested." That's like saying, "too bad if your father dies, what do I care?"
I would have told her to slow down and given her a warning in this situation. Some people have a heart, some don't.

Actually if you saw the video, she was calm enough.
She was just crying, and told the cop exactly what was going on.
I forgot what exactly she said, but at first she said something like
"Officer my father is having heart attack hes at the hospital can I please go see him?"
and fully explained herself and she even suggested he follow her there.
