I registered for classes, I finally decided I wanted to major in Accounting, so I'm back in school, at the age of 23. I have a ways to go before graduating, especially working full-time as well. Here begins a hard, but furfilling life. I don't care if it takes me 6-7 years to get my BA, but I'll get it done now that I have the proper motivation. Better late than never. :)

Right now I have to finish a few classes at Community College, then going to transfer to GMU once I meet the requirements and raise my GPA a little.

Awesome, congratulations. It is never too late to go back to school! In fact, I have heard from many people that taking a break after high school is a good idea.

I never did that...I started college RIGHT away...summer term after high school...

...and 3 years later I am not even a junior yet! (next term).

It probably will take me 5 to 5 and a half years all together to get my BS...but whatever....

You will be fine! :)

Yeah...I have been working the whole time I am in school except for like 2 terms total.

Basically I learned that being poor sucks ass...

So I pretty much work full time and go to school full time.

I work 32 hours a week and I am taking 12 credits. 4 days of school a week, and 4 days of work a week. Yay..my life rocks.

fuck, check this out. cuz i'm 28 and i DON'T work, i get paid to go to school. In 2006, I collected unemployment ($6600) and i worked for 1 day and collected $72. So on my tax return for 2006 i earned 6672. But i had money isaved up and shit cuz i knew i was gonna do this. So now in 2007, i get my tuitiona nd books paid for, plus theres enought financial aid to pay my rent and some food and shit. So i just work under the table doing some small accounting work for one of my professors and i make out like a bandit.

Sounds like you got it made.

I don't have to pay for my school, luckily my grandma made a few CD accounts for me before I was even born and now my college is completly paid for.

I am really lucky for that..I just hope I actually can graduate sometime.

everyone in school now needs to fill out the FASFA, theres a lot of free money out there.

I got financial aid my first year of college, they paid for half of my tuition, it was sweet. Unfortunatly my mom literally made like 3,000$ more the next year, so all they would offer me after that is just student loans..

I am counted under her income until I'm like 24 or 25 or something like that, unless I get married, but then I don't get her free health insurance...

Everything just sucks!  :hippy:

I've got an open oppurtunity to make it big in accounting.

I'm good at math, my Aunt is the owner of her accounting buisness, and she wants ME to take over. I apparently remind her of herself with my attitude and organization.

I'm just trying to decide..I'm not really sure what I want to do. Work in something with audio, like a Studio Job as Audio Director(which I do in my TV Media class for our News Show project), or a recording type studio. I could also take my chances in science, I'm a genius in Chemistry and love it. But then theres the guaranteed road to success for me in Accounting, Im just not sure if thats what I want to do.

Congrats! I'm headed off to college next year... hopefully I'll be half as motivated at you!

Keep it up! You'll feel great when you graduate, even if it takes a while. You'll probably earn alot more once you have that degree, too.

i've putzed around some time while at community college, but im going to get an associates of arts after next spring. i think i want to become a teacher, so i may pursue that afterwards. like you, i don't care if it takes me much longer to get there, as long as i do it.

Congrats, thc!

Gettin' my BA in English, minoring in education. I want to get my MA in English, teach high school while I work on my PhD, then teach at a university... I LOVE English courses, a lot of the teachers are really laid back and stoners, but the education classes can be a hassle sometimes, they're kind of boring, but I'm learning!
