i recently have been exploring Vipassana (awareness) meditation and i really enjoy it. i started this thread to talk/learn from others who practice Vipassana. Also, anyone who is interested in learning a tool that i believe can enhance anyone's spiritual journey regardless of religion. it is not a religion but a tool of prayer/meditation that can be tailored to any walk of faith.

so... does anyone practice Vipassana or is anyone interested in hearing a bit about it?

Yesterday i did see the link you posted in another thread abouth the Vipassana meditation. I did read a lot of it, and its a very good text. I will finish it probably today or tomorrow. Althought i have tried a lot of meditation techniques before, i never had the discipline needed to do it everyday, or even to stay awake while trying to meditate. But even this way i got a lot of benefits from the few meditations i did, and i wish to keep trying it, until i reach the enlightenment.

Could you post the link again please, or explain the technique in your own words? I'm interested in learning more about it. :)

Its here! Good luck for all of you!

i know of a simple yet effective meditation style called Vipassana. you can read all about it in this online .pdf. It might take you a few days to read the 100 page book (big print) but it is worth it if you want a stress relief tool to carry for your whole life.

if you want a quick fix, use drugs cause that is what they give you...
if you want a lasting and effective tool to carry with you always, try Vipassana...

good luck with whatever you decide...

its always cool connecting with other "searchers"...

yeah, i have been practicing vipassana for a little under a month and i thoroughly enjoy it. im a super extrovert who would normally be happy being surrounded by people 23hrs/6days a week... it is so weird for me to be "craving" solitude, but i do now. my wife says she has noticed such a positive change in me as well. the cool thing about it is that you really can carry it with you throughout your day,
