OK my grow area is W 4ft x L 6ft x H7ft .... how much CFM do I need? and when I find the cfm do I buy 2 fans? because I would like to buy a fan off insidesun.com and I nottice they sell fans like ex: inline fan 200 cfm or whatever... so if i needed 200 cfm I would buy 2 200 cfm fans to ventilate my room? Thanks if you could help

My grow area is of a similar size walk in closet, and my 400hps + 150 watt's of cfl's can get it quite warm with out ventalation the hps bulb gets hottt , it will get warm expecially a 1000 watt. You might want to invest in a cooltube. It also depends on the rooms tempature that the the ventalation is intaking the air from.
Here is a simple Exhaust Fan CFM Calculator
Hydroponics Exhaust Fan CFM Calculation for Gardening Indoors by Cheap Hydroponics (http://cheaphydroponics.com/Merchant2/cfmcalc.htm)
Hope this helps but the next project on my agenda for my 400 watt is a cooltube because there hotter then I though they would be lol.

thanks rootdoctor for the link.... i not going to try to get the cooltube though because I saw a grow log with like a guy growing a plant with 1000w light in a cabinent with out a cool tube and i am intaking air from inside so i dont think the cool tube will be neccasary. anyways thanks again for the link

i just confused because all the fans i see for sale only move like 100+ cfm... so what fan should i get? oh also root doctor if its possible to get me info on your ventilation system of your grow room it will be very apprecaited :) like what fan you use and the cfm...

Right now my ventalation is a little ghetto a recirculating fan moving air around in the closet and a household room fan to exhaust air out the closet , soon the ventalation system is going to be updated with a cooltube, and a inline fan.
The fan im getting is gonna be Hi-Tech Garden Supply (http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=46447)
Nice and cheap and will do the job,and Ive ordered from them before there quick and stealth.
Its fine to have a fan with higher cfm expessially if you plan on using something like a carbon filter (to minimize smell) thats going to lower the cfm rating. Its always better to have a high cfm rating.
