Summertime means that it's festival season! For me, it's basically what I look forward to throughout the year.
However, due to me being a broke-ass college student, I can only do 2-3 at most.
I'll be at Summercamp, which is May 25-27 in Chillacothe, IL.
Headerliners include 3 nights of moe. 2 nights of Umphrey's McGee, Keller, Claypool and his Fancyband, The Wailers :rastasmoke:, and tons more.
Then to close my summer off right, the Big Summer Classic, Aug 3-5. It's part of String Cheese Incident's final farewell tour, and they're playing THREE nights at this festival in Salem, MO at Camp Zoe. I highly suggest anyone checks it out because you won't be able to see SCI forever...
Those are the only two festies I have planned so far, but who knows.
I know there are other heads out there...what festivals are you all hitting up? ~

I'll be at summercamp as well, it's an awesome lineup this year. All-Good festival in West Virginia is looking attractive, seeing leftover salmon play again. I'll be at Summerfest in Milwaukee as well.

Hahaha to each his own my man, to each his own. I almost said the same thing about yours, but I held back...till now a course...
Actually, funny enough, one of my buddies went to Coachella, all the way from Illinois with no money. He came back and was like "dude, I've seen Rage. My life's changed."
In that respect I'm jealous. ~

I'm glad you took my comment lightly, too many people on this board take everything I say completely literally.

Actually yeah I did. Probably the craziest show I went to last year too. OH MY GOD was that awesome...
If you were there, you might remember Les sayin' this before the encore, "well, we were going to play the first side of 2112, but instead, you get stuck with the Beaver..."
And proceeded to give us that beaver...
I still have nightmares of all the dead bodies we saw in the pit..arms and legs were going everywhere...and afterwords all the freaks steamed and pissed and full of mdma storming out of the building...
GOOD times.

DUDE! I fell down in there! As soon as my ass touched the ground, they were like "GET HER UP!" and the people behind me lifted me.
Then I kept getting sucked it and trampled on so much that my friend Casey had to pull me in front of him and wrap his arm around me. We were really close to the front so it was pretty packed. And I had my huge bowl in my bra. :(
But seriously, one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. So close to Les...
Go to Lolla! It's so close! [Distance]

This will be my first year going to Summercamp, I live like 20 min. away and I feel stupid I have never been. I'm also going to Schwagstock and the Big Summer Classic down at Camp Zoe. If I got money I also want to go to Nelson's Ledges for Summer Hookahville....all in all looks to be a fun summer of music and tokin' :hippy:

Hell yeah not the kitty I'll be seein' you all summer man. BSC will be the fest of the year, bar none. And actually this year's BSC has really nothing to do with Schwagstock...it's put on by different people...this will be WAY above and beyond any Schwagstock for sure.
And on a much more serious note, there's reports that Claypool broke a finger tonight, and canceled his show on the 24th in Minneapolis, but he hasn't canceled Summercamp YET!

Wheww! Just got back from Summercamp this afternoon, and man am I zonked. 4 days and I didn't take one shower or change one shirt...lol I'm so proud.
The music all weekend was out of this world, and is easily why I was able to run on 4-5 hours sleep after dancin' into the wee hours of the morning. My highlight was an INTENSE Galactic latenight show in the barn Sunday. WOW did they throw it down. Claypool had a shortened set because of the rain, but he still managed to impress me like always. That plastic pinky as he called it seemed to be working fine, but he didn't really jam as much as I would have liked....you know, where he high-steps around on stage...
moe. was more impressive than I'd anticipated, and Umphrey's brought the goods as well for the most part. I've got some pretty good pictures I managed to take before I ran out of batteries, so I'll get them on here sometime if I remember...
SO, is it time for BSC in August yet???

So this has been my summer of experimentation with many different things. mainly that fact that i have more confidence in myself now than i ever have around everyone i meet. It feels great getting out going to parties meeting new people. i strongly reccomend it.
one great thing ive come across is definately going to concerts and shows of any kind. ive got over 6000 songs on my ipod so im into a lot of different music. this summer ive been to alot of different concerts and festivals with live music.
its amazing and deffinately worth the money to spend on tickets... and the money spent on a good time haha :greenthumb:
so far this summer ive seen
311 , OAR , Matisyahu , Yonder Mountain , Mike Perkins , Boombox , Freekbase , Darkstar , Wish You Were Here , Spike Driver , Xavier Rudd and The Wailers (rip bob marley)
i still plan on hittin up Hookahville and Hookah in the hills too so therell be more to that list.
so what concerts have you guys been to? what good names have played in your neck of the woods this summer or ever. lets hear some stories.
I dance with Rollerscates and have threesomes with Molly and Mary

Yeah summertime is always a summer full of concerts and festivals. I only went to 2 festivals this summer but they were both some of the best music I've seen, period.
I went to Summercamp in May which is like an hour from me, and saw, among others, Les Claypool, Galactic, MMW, moe., Umphrey's, Keller and the WMD's, Pnuma Trio....
Hmm then I caught Claypool another time in St. Louis before my last festy and that was SWEET.
And I just got back from The Big Summer Classic out at Camp Zoe in Bumfuck, MO. It was a final run of String Cheese, so we caught 3 nights of them, along with the Roots, the Wailers (which bored me to be honest), Yonder, Drew Emmitt aka the best mandi player alive, Infected Mushroom, and so many more....
And what's good about this fall is I already have a sick run of shows to look forward to.
Glad to see you are into the concert scene...now if only we can get you away from those 311 and OAR concerts haha na j/k...
Long live the festy heads!

OAR is ohio grown man gotta respect the locals they talk about places that are 15 minutes away from me in their songs.
but man keller and umphreys gotta give you props on that id love to see them in concert.
id really like to see string cheese in concert too theyre amazing.
if you could ever make it down to ohio in october hookah in the hills is a sweet festival with a lot of sweet names playing. Ekoostic hookah, maybe darkstar, mike perkins, freekbase, boombox.
really gonna be an amazing weekend if anyone would want to hit that up let me know im definately going.
sorry about posting in the wrong forum didnt realize i just clicked post, you know how that is haha
